He sounds confident. You don't. Perhaps the position you could get is not nearly as good as the one he has. Many other things could be going on too.

He said yes. When I say yes, don't ask me again or doubt it. I mean yes.
When I say no...There is about a 2% chance that I will change my mind.

    Thanks for the sig LCSF

I actually like my brother and sister in law. MiL? Can't stand, but the siblings, I can dig. Plus, he's got cute kids and I like being an uncle.

So I call him and I ask him if he'd be all right with that. He said yes, but I got the feeling that he really wouldn't be cool with it. There would be ... tension.

    Thoughts?

On the one hand, I need some work. But on the other, I don't want to cause any divide among the family. And, if I had to, i could push a mower for him for like 18+ an hour
Work is work, and money is money. I would hope that the response your brother-in-law gave was genuine and you just overanalyzed it. There is absolutely no reason why that should be held against you.

I say you take the temp position.

Why do you dislike the Mavs? What is your team?

Yeah Cuban said he spent $1.4-1.5 mil on the rings. And boy does it look like it. There are diamonds growing out of diamonds! And Dirk sure likes to rock it.

Hahah I knew that was coming. I'm a big fan of Lebron and DWade, I'm a 1%er. Casual basketball fan at best, but I love watching them play. Last night when Lebron went over John Lucas?

I agree. Unless you were going to be actively doing business development work where you might steal business away from your brother-in-law, I don't see the issue. Someone is going to perform the role you've been offered for the company, why don't you take the employment?
"Washington strolled to the NFC championship, outscoring their two playoff opponents by a combined total of 48 points. Their domination was more than impressive, it was historic. The 1991 Redskins boasted the largest average margin of victory among all Super Bowl champions."

You are borderline obsessed with Dirk.

He wears it all the time because he has been barely playing this season.

If he wants to impress me he should wear it during a game. Starnge thing about that picture is how short that finger looks next to the middle finger.

    Thanks for the sig LCSF

ah ok, I understand. Did you already dislike the Mavs before last season or is it just because of the Finals? I'm just curious. I don't hate people who hate my teams. Hell, I'm a Cowboys fan on a Skins board.

I'm more obsessed with Dirk than I am with Stafford.

Yeah Dirk is looking pretty old right now, but I will blame the lockout. Actually, the #1 reason is because he made the mistake of playing in the Euros in the summer. I liked his decision at first, but now he has said he regrets it.

Haha no, I've always liked Cuban as a personality and I've even rooted for them in previous playoffs. However, last year I put a drunken $100 bet (very drunken) on the Heat before the all-star game with a friend of mine that the Heat would win the championship. It was such a retarded bet on my part but they got to the finals so I was cheering hard. Not to mention, I catch a lot of **** for backing the Heat and I was hoping that if they won I would be vindicated, and could rub it in all my friend's faces.

    Sour grapes, that's all

    http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/tech...ear-space.html

Two Canadian high school students have successfully launched a Lego man almost 80,000 feet above sea level--high enough to capture video of the plastic toy hovering above the curvature of the Earth.

Now the results of their experiment have gone viral, racking up more than 600,000 views on YouTube in just two daysand inspiring the young engineers to make their small astronaut his own Facebook page--Lego Man in Space.

The Toronto Starreports that the two teens, Matthew Ho and Asad Muhammed, were inspired to do the project about a year and a half ago when Ho saw a YouTube video of MIT students who sent a balloon to near space. Ho wanted to see if he could do it too.

The friends spent four and a half months working on the project, mostly on Saturdays. In a video interview with the Star, they said the hardest part was making the parachute, which they decided to hand-sew, even though neither of them had any sewing experience.
    Good for them

How does the company compete with your BiL's position? Would you be trying to steal his clients or something?

I said go ahead and put my name in. Its an office job. If it were for like pushing a mower, I'd go to him first. But since he hasn't built an office yet, I don't see a reason to not at least put my name in for it.
Yea I don't see how there's any conflict there unless he's also offered you a job.
