Got some sick Christmas presents. A ridculously nice Tag Heuer watch, a bottle of 1982 Cheval-Blanc, a bottle of 1982 Pichon Longueville, a new Coach wallet with a sizable check in it, a nice scarf, and some awesome bath accessories from L'Occitane. Off to the mountains tomorrow for some skiing! Life is good (even though I'm a little under the weather). Hope everyone had a great Christmas.

That sounds like the most metrosexual Christmas ever.

Lol. Hey, I'm in Switzerland. My stepmom did most of the shopping. She cares hella about her appearance.

The watch is pretty dope though. And the bottles of wine. Any type of person, heterosexual, homosexual, or transgender meterosexual could enjoy those.

I will freely admit to being filled with envy at the wines you received.

Yeah I'm pretty psyched. 1982 was quite the year for Bordeaux wines. Also the year I was born, hence why my pops gave em to me. I feel they should be at their peak now and fully mature, gonna drink em both in 2013. I expect them to be complex and lovely.

There is speculation that some of the more recent Bordeauxs could be better or rival the older ones at least. Be pretty cool to get a bottle for somebody having a kid now and wait until they're 21 to open it.

Not the same, but I had some of Machete the other night, my ex brought it over. I can still taste it. Very Cote du rhone style of blend. Big and chewy with great fruit.

OK, you get a pass since you're in Europe. I'm pretty sure the culture of that entire continent is egregiously metrosexual.

A new type of machine could rival quantum computers in exceeding the power of classical computers, researchers say.

Quantum computers rely on the bizarre properties of atoms and the other construction blocks of the universe. The world is a fuzzy place at its very smallest levels — in this realm where quantum physics dominates, things can seemingly exist in two places at once or spin in opposite directions at the same time.

The new computers rely on "boson" particles, and resemble quantum computers, which differ from traditional computers in important ways. Normal computers represent data as ones and zeroes, binary digits known as bits that are expressed by flicking switch-like transistors on or off. Quantum computers, however, use quantum bits, or qubits (pronouced "cue-bits"), that can be on and off at the same time, a state known as "superposition."

This allows the machines to carry out two calculations simultaneously. Quantum physics permits such behavior because it allows for particles that can exist in two places at once or spin in opposite directions at the same time.
