I don't think I'll ever understand the hype behind How I Met Your Mother.

I'll give it credit for being more creative than most network sitcoms, but it's really not as witty or smart as a lot of people make it out to be.

I got pretty addicted to it this summer. For me, it's also the cast/characters in How I Met Your Mother that make it interesting. NPH is incredible as Barney - I didn't initially understand the greatness of Barney but after watching a few eps of How I Met Your Mother his character grew on me immediately. Marshall is also a solid character as the goofy/nerdy buddy of Ted, and Alyson Hannigan (sp?) is adorable as Lily. Robin is pretty much like Barney, and Ted's often such a pansy that can get pretty hilarious. It's a great balance of characters, and very well chosen cast.

I don't know if I ever saw it as a witty or smart show, but it does have a unique way of storytelling for the main idea behind the show.

Oh trust me, I was ready to launch into a full-scale HH tirade of epic proportion. I haven't cut one of those loose in quite some time. I think cjcdaman was the last recipient of one of those. The only difference between that situation and this one is that...well...he didn't have a legitimate point.
