Speaking of Redskins I've been meaning to put this up. Kind of a long read and probably a few people will read half of it but it's cool.
I like football. Actually I love football. It's intense, fast-paced action, and unpredictable. That being said I can say without any hesitation that I couldn't care less what the Redskins do this season or for any foreseeable season in the future. Whatever passion and fandom I had for this team died a couple of years ago. I don't know why or how but when I really started getting into this team it was the year they drafted this safety out of Miami. I had never up to that point been so heavily invested in one individual athlete. I didn't know the guy, didn't grow up watching him play, didn't go to his alma-mater but for some reason I quickly got attached to him. The style in which he played the game was something I had never seen before and it was awesome.
When he passed away it was a shock. Though I still came back every Sunday after that the same as I ever had. The run to the playoffs was awe-inspiring and I had never been so happy to be a fan. When the game ended in Seattle though and the Redskins were on the wrong side of the scoreboard I remember feeling this sense of relief lift off of me. 2007 was a tough year for me personally and the only thing that made me happy was watching the Redskins take the field with #21 in tow. After it was all over I just didn't want anything to do with football. Didn't care for it, didn't want to see it.
When the offseason began I realized I wasn't into it like I used to be. Didn't watch the combine, didn't follow free agency and didn't watch the draft. Add to the fiasco of the head coach search that year and I was done. Fast forward to present day and that feeling hasn't left. The team not winning hasn't helped the cause but it doesn't influence the way I feel. I wish I could be back to the way I was but I just can't. It sucks for my g/f who's a huge fan when I talk about the team because I come off as this very cynical person. It's something I can't help.
There have been some instances with this organization that has further cemented my apathetic opinion of them. I'm not very fond of the owner. I feel (personal opinion) that he has been taking advantage of a very loyal fanbase for far too long. The incidents of the 2009 season pissed me off so much and made me question why I ever rooted for this team in the first place. But he wasn't here when the team started and only accounts for a fraction of the time they've been in the league.
Anyway I had been thinking of this for some time now and just felt like expressing it on here. Feels good to see it in writing.
My passion for the Redskins grows more hardcore every single year. It wasn't as big when i was a kid as it is now. Full force i love this team..
Eventhough Gibbs 2.0 was pretty much a failure, I am so glad i saw him on the sidelines. I finally witnessed what people had in the 80s with him

I have set my expectations so low for this team, that there is no where to go but up. After having witnessed the Vinny/Zorn era, I cannot imagine anything worse.
Though, I'm not really all that passionate about this team. I have a hard time doing so about a sport that has 16 games in the season and the Redskins are generally out of it by Week 6-9.

Take a book.
There is no way I would be ever to read for that long lol.
I was talking with SSM the other day and we came up with the idea of remodeling ES. The basic premise is that there would be a "minor league" system put in. So all new members start off at Single-A. The more quality posts you make, the more points you get. At a certain point you get promoted to Double-A, and so on. This would weed out the dumbasses we have in The Stadium that many of us can't stand. At the same time, poor posts make you lose points and therefore it is possible to be demoted as well. TK, get it done.
