One of our weakest link in the past season was the kicking game. For some reason, this team gets cursed with kickers who seem to be pro bowl players for other teams, then fall short when we pick them up.

Our record last season could have easily been 12-4 with a kicker as accurate as Vinatari. It seems that games get closer and closer as each season goes bye, and having him as our field goal kicker and kick offs, would put this team in better position to win the close ones.

There were several games last year where our kicking game was well, sub-par at best, and put our defense in short field scenarios. I just feel Hall will never be the same kicker he was with the Jets. He missed most of the last two seasons with a quad injury that I feel, is never going to heal.

I would just like to not worry about our kicking game. I clutch my fist on every kick off, and field goal attempt. It is the most under rated part of a team, but the most important one to be very good at. Make the deal somehow, and get that man on this team.

i do not think we can afford him... vander jagt would be as good and might cost less.. in the end, i think we keep hall

I'm not so sure about Hall. He's missed a few games these past two years, and it looks like they don't have confidence that he can hit the long ones. If he's healthy, sure, keep him, but if he isn't we're going to play kicker carousel again.

But... even a wounded Hall is better than a rookie.

i think kickoffs are a major issue for the skins to address. neither hall nor novak were very good at kicking off and the other team often got field position which was too good. it is def something we should consider.

I don't think we'll be able to afford him either...he's a big money kicker. You ice to superbowls, and your price tag goes through the roof. If the Cowturds want to throw a ton of money at him, let 'em. I don't think we A) can afford him and B) are willing to throw that much money at a kicker. I think Hall is gone, but I'd much rather see Novak back than Vinatieri...

I don't see us bringing him in for the $$$$ he will want, but I do hope we get rid of Hall, his kickoffs put us in a bad spot alot.

I agree with the majority. Just about anyone is an upgrade over Hall on kickoffs. Vanderjagt would be a good kicker, but I wonder about his abilities outdoors? Venatieri will cost too much and we need our cap $ for bigger fish.

If the Redskins are serious about making a Super Bowl run this year... as the player's seem to be hinting... then a clutch kicker is a vital component.

Vanderjagt kicked outdoors at WVU and in Canada, but even the Colts signed Cortez as the kickoff man.

It's definitely EXTREMELY important in playoff games and close regular season games. In this age of parity, the value becomes augmented. Look at the scores of our games all year. Most of them were very close, where one score could have changed the outcome of the game. If Hall makes that field goal vs SD, we are 11-5. If Novak doesn't get one blocked vs Denver, we possibly win that game. We also relied on Novak to kick the game winning field goal vs Seattle. Huge swings.

And by the way, I wouldn't call Vanderjagt a clutch kicker.
