If anyone has the opportunity to take the hot lanes during rush hour to the stadium, please report back how the trip goes. Obviously the further around 495 you have to go the better in terms of getting an accurate picture.

I'm just curious how they may/may not change traveling to the stadium for a MNF/TNF game.

Wonder how long it will be before the NFL sends us off to play a "home" game overseas.

The Hot Lanes don't exist on the MD side of the beltway...

I never take 495, I always go through the city, out Central avenue.

It seems like JKCS was over compliant for ADA regs when it opened; particularly in the bottom 5 rows of the 400 level where you're referring to those empty perpendicular aisles. It amazes me that Snyder was able to get away with replacing most of those empty areas with removable seating, bc it seems like HOK designed those blank spaces for wheel chair platforms.
    Hi Ian,

I know we've talked about this many times (not recently) - and I had once assumed the stadium opened just like it shows in the brochure. I also assumed Snyder is the one that invented the Loge areas. But further research showed this not to be true. I can't show you exactly what I dug up, but somewhere I read that opening day included over 80,000 fans, which doesn't follow with a 78,600 seat stadium. I also remember seeing evidence of endzone loge seating in 1997 photos. Remember the JKC logo in the middle of the field? That was there in '97, so pics of that with loge seating (but windows in place) indicates that loge did exist.

I wouldn't bet my life on it, but from what I dug up, it seems the stadium was bigger than we had thought.

If you want, scout around and see if you can find something out otherwise.

The panoramic stadium poster from MNF 1997, Skins/Cowboys under the full moon is our evidence. Of course I can't find a pic when I need it, but if I remember correctly...The front facade of the upper suite level behind the endzone appeared to be the same as the sideline suites.

    Per your hunch...

It was in 2000 when Snyder removed all of the windows and walls in front of the loges, also adding the balcony on the west loge. I conclude that both loge levels must have been in place on opening day in 1997, but they appeared no different from the rest of the suites if you were looking at them from anywhere in the seating bowl. This would also explain why the loge levels have their own concourse, restrooms, and concessions, while the sideline suites have only a catwalk.

As you mentioned, the loges were likely born sometime in 1997 when the TO concluded they weren't going to be able to sell all of the suites, particularly the least desired behind the endzones.

Right, but the exist on the other side, which a lot of us (including myself) are coming from.

66 to the WW is where the bottleneck is... that's also where the hotlanes are.

The hot lanes only extend as far as the mixing bowl (495 & I95) going south and to just past the Dulles Toll road going north so doubt they would be all that helpful but I will see on Monday afternoon.

I just got offered for 85 a seat in section 229 row 21, seat 4.

Is this seat obstructed or is the view good?

That would be in the corner end zone visitor's side and would be obstructed view seating. At a minimum, the over hang will block tops of punts and kickoffs since you will be sitting back in the "cave". Your view of the field should be fairly good however, and unlikely that a pillar will block the field view; although the pillar on your left might block part of the near end zone. You should ask the ticket seller. I sit in section 207 which is directly opposite from you on the home side.
"That's not enough rings," Griffin said. "We've got to get more."
"Alright, Sammy," Griffin said. "I'll see you later."

Seller showed me the ticket which is "limited view."

Basically is it crappy seat or not bad?
If I can get it for $65/70 would that be a good deal?
