Well, I was absolutely disappointed in ECW if you can even call it that last night. Further reason to continue watching TNA. I knew Vince would screw this up.

the problem with 2 hours is Vince does not want another night of tapings so there for they are taping smackdown before ecw I dont know if you notice nut the girl that came out and did that waste of time strip teasewas standing on the smackdown setOriginally Posted by TK
I believe that eventually, the WWE will figure out that ECWWE won't work. They have to let it be it's own show, with it's own people, with their own arenas. Taping ECW before smackdown just doesn't work.
They have to finish off this brand vs brand stuff. But they've booked themselves into a corner. They have to get the WWE belt off of RVD before they can really do anything.
They also shouldn't make Kurt Angle or the Big Show the focus of ECW. If they dominate, then it looks like the ECW people are rejects who aren't worth our time.
The tie in with Sci-fi won't help either. That's why we had to see people like the Zombie & that Vampire. Even though I will again say that I didn't mind the Zombie (but I like horrible wrestlers, so that makes some sense)
I didn't have high hopes for last night, so I'm not dissapointed in what I saw. But last night's show wasn't an ECW show. Sunday night was more of an ECW show. The crowd plays a huge part in an ECW show. I used to drive down to Philly to catch the shows at the old ECW Arena. The small venues, the crowd chants, that's ECW.
You can't put 10 guys in ECW shirts in a ring with garbage cans & call it ECW. Once Vince figures that out, things should get better.......
I think once Paul E gets his creativity back things MIGHT get better But you also have NBC universal breathing down their necks
they were suposed to the show live last night but NBC universal didnt like what they saw from the crowd Sunday and FREAKED out once they realize this is ecwwe and not your typical ecw crowd they will lay off a bit
I hope![]()
Watched ECW last night and here's what I thought:
The Good:
They stuck with the "low-budget" aspects of the original ECW. It's not the fireworks and contstant waaaayyyyy too long monologing of the WWE stuff. Not flashy, but it's ECW not WCW or WWE and that's good.
The Sandman.....wow, that guy is just crazy. Also nice to see Sabu(wasn't he in TNA?), Justin Credible.
Liked the new Kurt Angle.....he wrestled techinically, but was just sick in how he destroyed Justin Credible.
Nice to see RVD with 2 belts.
Nice DX commercial in btw segemnts.
The Bad.
Too much WWE "inter-war" stuff (remember when WCW and ECW was brought to the WWE years ago? Same plot line as far as I'm concerned.) it was lame. Edge and Jon Cena was predictable and boring. Knew edge would jump RVD and knew (easily) that RVD and Cena would be feuding still.
THe battle royal sucked!!!! Lame, lame lame...when it's an all weapon BR why wait until everybody gets tossed out THEN grab weapons. Plus, who didn't think Sabu would win after Big Show tossed him and he didn't go out. Too predictable.
I'm never against hot women who want to strip.....but a) there was no stripping (for the most part) and it was filler inbtw segments, no extra plot point. Pretty lady, wonder if she'll be a new manager or a female ECW wrestler?
No way should you have the ECW champ get OWNED by another brand or wrestling promotion ON YOUR OWN SHOW. RVD got owned by Edge....that really sucked for ECW to be so extreme and yet outclassed by the #1 Seed not even the former champ.
Overall, not that great, but it was the "pilot" episode so it should get better as the show progresses.
F.Y.I just read that the show did an 2.8 rating thats AMAZING considering they were only expecting a 1.0
I expect that number to change next week though considering the show was to ecwwe than ECW
I would like to say what a pleasure it is too talk RASTLIN with you all I hope to continue this thread for as long as we can so if you have any SPOILERS or rumors you would like to share I would love to hear them I dont always gets to watch Smackdown so I always look on the internet for the taping results so if you see them before me and dont mind shring please do so
This ECW crap sucked badly...in fact the best part of the night IMO was the DX/Vengence Commercial....
Ditto. I used to go to 1wrestling.com for spoilers & news until Dave left. I think Apter is running that site now. It's so full of pop up adds & spyware now, I don't even bother to go there anymore.Originally Posted by skinsfan1992
Not trying to be a jerk, but just for the record, Triple H isn't 40 yet. He will turn 37 the end of July. Michaels is about 4 years older than Hunter. Secondly remember that DX stands for De-generation X, gen Xers right now are mostly in their mid 30s now so its a pretty appropriate moniker for them.Originally Posted by NoCalMike

I go to pwinsiderxtra.com but just like 1wrestling they have ton of po ups and spy ware so I stay away from there too
Glad this thread came back to life.
If Vince wants ECW to be viewed as legit. Then he shouldn't have it overlap with his other shows at all for the 1st 6-12 months.
Let them build up their own brand. Have their own titles, and PPV's.
Then maybe come together twice a year after that.
Wrestlemania, and then something around Oct 1st.
they will probly as far as PPVS go due the fab 4 with Raw and Smackdown and then have the june and there is a new one in Dec that ECW is spose to get
FYI the fab 4 are Wrestlemeania Summer slam Survior Series and the Royal Rumble
Good read on the PPV & the Tuesday night debut.
