I may be wrong but I think we saw 2 other similar occasions last night where the same thing happened but the downed fighter was allowed to get pounded out or fight out. Kos was not. I'm not making any ethical calls here but I think he should have had a chance at least to try. I think he wanted that overhand right so bad he left himself wide open for things. He's got the physical part down of his stand-up game, now it's time to think like a boxer.

Nothing like a FREE night of KOs and subs with a surprisingly spirited main event.

thats what bothered me the most. the calls were inconsistent

I watched the main event again with the sound off at my bar. Watching it without Rogan kissing Diego's ass (I'm a huge Rogan fan btw) and without the exctiement of wondering what is going to happen, it was a much closer fight than I thought. Stevenson might have won rounds 1 and 3. Diego backpedaled the entire time. He may have been throwing more diverse attacks, but he wasn;t landing much. He only really hit Joe a few times in the first. One was that big uppercut. Joe on the other hand was controlling the octagon and landing more punches. I would love to see some stats on this fight.

stevenson looked to me to be perfectly content with not being finished. i don't think he threw a single kick all fight. his punches were predictable as hell. diego was more aggressive in his striking.

i was kinda of disappointed in Joe, he seemed more concerned with getting the crowd into the match than actually trying to win the fight

    Sounds like a boring fight...

I slipped in to watch the end of one of the UWC fights at the Patriot Center (where I was working), and watched one guy knock his opponent out with about 6 elbows to the back of the head in rapid succession, only to have the fight ruled "no contest" because of illegal blows. It was pretty crazy.

this looks like something straight out of a video game

Maia played Sonnen like a fiddle. the takedown directly into mount while trapping the arm, passes the leg, lets sonnen roll himself right into the triangle. absolutely beautiful

I think Joe was frustrated that Diego was backing up the whole time and throwing counter combos. Joe was trying to get in on Diego and Diego was too quick moving back. Let me know if you watch the fight a second time. If I am bored later I may try to count who landed more shots in the 1st and 3rd round.

This was my favorite fight of the night. Greg Jackson's guys are just completely tearing it up in MMA right now.

I want to see him and Anderson go at it again too.

That's going to be a solid card.

That sounds awesome. I might have to head over to Hard Times Cafe if they have it on. It's a pain in the ass trying to watch online and having you feed shut down every 15 minutes or so.

Indeed. I hope we get to see a few fights from the undercard again, because there are a few there that interest me.

Same here, I'd like to see the Dennis Kang fight and the Jason MacDonald/Nate Quarry fight.

Imagine if they saved the Rampage/Jardine fight for that card...it would be another super fight card.
