i would love to see Manhoef fight Anderson. imagine that stand-up war (of course if it hit the ground, manhoef would be subbed almost instantly). hunt's chin is legendary, i can't imagine takin that shot that put him down.

Aoki does it again, he is defying conventional wisdom that you can no longer be a one dimensional fighter. its amazing, every fighter knows the only way to lose against Aoki is to go to the ground, yet the fight always ends up there.

Yes, a kickboxing match against Anderson would be very interesting. Otherwise, I think Anderson has him in MMA. Manhoef is a very fast SOB with insane leg kicks and hooks. He has an underrated clinch game, but it's no match for Silva.

If I see a shooting star I'm wishing for Jessica Alba first, but if I see another shooting star I'll be wishing for a Aoki vs. Penn bout hitting the canvas.

funny thing in that Aoki/Alvarez match: aoki is literally on his ass chasing Alvarez, while Alvarez runs like he's in a horror movie , then Alvarez decides to throw a leg kick when the fight is stood back up and that was all she wrote

Manhoef KO'd Hunt with one strike, while moving backwards:

Manhoef might be able to KO Mark Hunt, but nothing tops those trunks.

Note how a real referee risks his own noggin to step in as fast as he can. Unlike Mazzagatti.

That exactly what I thought man. Japanese refs have always done that. I always waited for the day a haymaking G&P ended up in the brainstem of a 110 pound Japanese ref.

I love it. Look at the 'Page KO and the Alistar KO. Both had their non-punching hand next to their jaw. Wanderlei even HIT Rampage in the glove right before he got knocked THEFUGOUT.

Yeah, the defensive tactics didn't score the knockouts, but they sure don't hurt. Gotta love the way Rampage parries. His elbows fly as high as his forehead.

That's pure elementary technical defense. If guys like Wanderlei and Chuck had defense like that they wouldn't be on the wrong end of highlight KOs these days...especially since they're getting older.

Elementary to learn, yes. But when you have a guy swinging 80 mph at your jaw, it becomes more like perusing a mathematics degree at Harvard.

I think guys like Wanderlei and Chuck simply thrived on pegging poor dumb bastards that would get sliced in two in today's game. They took advantage of a small talent pool. Sure, we all loved Pride. But in 20 years, we will probably be laughing at how "sorry" their fighters were. Chuck, Wandie, Cro Cop, Big Nog, Gomi, FEDOR...they were (and some still are) ahead of their time.
