The Cain Velasquez fight should be good, although I'm not familiar with the guy he's fighting...also the Anthony Johnson/Luigi Fioravanti fight should end in a KO either way.
Cain's fighting a one-dimensional kickboxer, the only way Cain loses is if he tries to stand

They say Johnson walks around at about 200lbs! I hope he comes in and gets a nice KO like he did agains Tommy Spears.

good showing for Anthony Johnson, he put Luigi away in 1 round, it took Diego Sanchez 3.

training with Cung Le is helping him

i still don't see how in the hell he makes 170, dude is huge

The Velaquez fight last night was fun to watch. Both guys came out swinging for the fences. Those knees and leg kicks Velaquez was throwing were brutal.

good showcase fight for Cain, his opponent had the defense of a punching bag though.

pretty good card overall, not a boring fight on the card

I was very impressed with Lauzon. I know he is good, but that cut he had was pretty nasty and I think he knew that if it went to another round, it could get stopped. He needed to find a way to end it, and quickly. And he did. That kid is incredible on the ground.

It's funny how the free Fight Night card had every main card fight end with a sub or KO and how the $45 PPV last weekend had every fight except two go to the judges.

Agreed. I usually see better fights on the Spike broadcasts and on the WEC cards.

The Josh Neer/Mac Danzig fight was sweet until Neer took over.

Funny how that works, however I did enjoy the Machida & GSP fights on the PPV card.

The fight night was very good. All my picks won. Johnson will start moving up the WW ladder now, and I think he will start getting higher profile fights. He should be 8-1 if it weren't for the eye gouging controversy. Cain V. is a beast, but he still needs a few lower tiered fights under his belt.

UFC has to workout something with AKA, they have Kos, Fitch, Swick & Rumble (who trains with Cung who works with AKA). can't have that many top WW in one camp in the same org.

Rumble vs. Swick would be a logical next fight, and would be a damn good fight at that. Outside of Swick, i wouldn't mind seeing Rumble fight Marcus Davis or Dustin Hazelett (to test Rumbles ground game, if it got to the ground)

Frank Shamrock vs. Nick Diaz set for April 11th

Frank Shamrock will fight Nick Diaz at Strikeforce’s April 11 event on Showtime.

The bout, which Strikeforce and Showtime announced Tuesday, will be contested at a catch-weight of 179 pounds.

The outspoken Shamrock is coming off a loss to Cung Le in a March 2008 Strikeforce event. His arm was broken by Le’s kicks in the entertaining 15-minute match. Before that defeat, Shamrock choked out Phil Baroni in a June 2007 Strikeforce main event.

Diaz, who is perhaps even more outspoken than Shamrock, has won three straight. Most recently he stopped Thomas Denny in a July 2008 EliteXC bout.

Check back shortly for more news on Strikeforce’s April 11 show.
