For anyone here who is local, there are a few things going on in the area this weekend.

Kenny Florian is doing seminars at two of my school's locations this weekend.

    http://kennyflorian.com/schedule/

He's doing a BJJ seminar at the Rockville location on Saturday and an MMA seminar at the Fairfax location on Sunday.

Then on Saturday night there's an MMA event at the DC Armory:

Pedro Rizzo & Gary Goodridge are the main event lol. K. Flo will be in attendance along with Demian Maia. There are some lesser-known prospects fighting from well-known schools like Black House, ATT, Wand FC (not sure if Wandy will be there himself), Nova Uniao, and Gracie Barra. There are some local guys fighting too from Yamasaki.

Damn, wish he was doing an MMA seminar at Yamasaki's. Doesn't matter though, I'll probably leave work early to go. Thanks QBK.

No problem man, let me know if you decide to go to one. I'm pretty sure I'm going to the BJJ one in Rockville, I'd actually like to go to the event at the armory but I have to attend a stupid birthday party of someone I barely know.

Yeah man Yamasaki's is only two miles away from where I live and even closer to where I work. The only thing up in the air right now is how busy I'll be on Saturday. I usually get done in the afternoon but could go in earlier than normal to get a head start. That means going to sleep early on friday.

That's a tall order, as the bar tab will be.

Well...here's an interesting fight. It will be a fun one, but I think Diaz takes it.

Marcus Davis could draw Nate Diaz at UFC 118 if commission issues resolved

The "Irish Hand Grenade" got his wish to fight in Beantown.

Not long after Marcus Davis (17-6 MMA, 9-4 UFC) told MMAjunkie.com Radio that UFC officials were trying to get him a spot on the UFC 118 fight card, Nate Diaz (12-5 MMA, 7-3 UFC) has answered the call to fight him at the East Coast event.

Sources close to the promotion today told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) that the two have verbally agreed to the fight with bout agreements expected to be signed shortly.

UFC 118 is expected to take place Aug. 28 at Boston's TD Garden; it'll be the first UFC event to be held in Massachusetts since the sport received official sanctioning earlier this year. A lightweight title rematch between newly minted champion Frankie Edgar and former champion BJ Penn headlines the event.

The bout could air on Spike TV, which has become a home for televised preliminary fights leading into UFC pay-per-view cards. Ten of the "UFC Prelims" specials are contracted for 2010.

Nice, I actually like that fight. I think Davis has a good chance for a KO but if it goes to the ground, he's in big trouble.

Yeah, I think it is a great fight on paper. Davis does have a shot at a KO, but Diaz's standup looked great against Markham last month. He looked like he had a lot more power at 170. But Davis looked a lot quicker on Saturday than he has looked in a while. In the stand-up game, it just depends on who is controlling the tempo, IMO. Because with Diaz's awkward striking style, once he gets going, it is kind of overwhelming.

But you are absolutely right, if the fight gets to the ground, Davis is probably screwed.

If Nate wins that fight he has officially turned a corner in my book, I still think Marcus takes him at this point.

    ^^^^^

I just found this gif I'm not sure if it was posted but it was after Chuck owned Tito in the coach's challenge dodge ball game on The Ultimate Fighter.

I don't get it SU, that's just Chuck's normal fighting stance.

That looks just like the gif of him sitting at an event, watching a fight and making that crazy face and Joe Rogan says that he looks like he's on drugs lol.
