Default I think the Giants are going to be putrid in 2006

Bookmark this thread, mock me, laugh at me, I don't care. The Giants are finishing last in the NFC East this year.

Their defense is going to be the worst, by far, in the NFC East this year. They are as soft as Andy Reid's stomach at DT, and their 3 projected starting LBs won't spend 10 percent of the team's snaps on the field at the same time this year.

Their defensive backfield is just as bad. Madison was a bad pickup...he can't cover my mother.

On offense, they aren't as inept, but they won't be very good. Manning is the most overrated player in the league. Tiki is the truth, but he is a year older. He will still be great.

Shockey is Shockey. He will have an amazing week that will be followed up by his Mr Invisible act where he perhaps throws a tantrum. At WR, Burress is a mini-TO and soon to be a liability. I can't wait till things start going poorly and Plexiglass starts complaining and not listening to Coughlin even more.

I like Coughlin but his approach makes things worse when things go bad, as they will in NY this year.

    5-11.

I forgot schedule. They open with Indy, Philly, Seattle, bye.

0-3 going into the bye. Wait and see.

How exactly is Eli Manning the most overrated player in the league?

Ask any Giants fan with half a brain...they'll all say he's a year away from being a top QB.

Don't forget the Lavar distraction factor either...that one is easily as potentially disruptive as Plax' attitude.

    I'm with you Westy.

Everytime the Giants are supposed to be good, they're awful

Everytime they're supposed to be bad, they're great.

It's like clockwork, and any Giants fan can't even dispute it.

With rock-solid evidence like that, the giants will be 6-10 at best.......

I believe they said that last year too though!!! I think he is a decent QB and he has a lot of ability for the future. I dont see the Giants being last ( I do see DallASS there though!!!)
The Giants will definitly be beat up though by December with the strength of schedule that they have. My prediction 9-6 for the G-men and picking up the Wild Card. LA will not be the player that I think you paid him to be though.

Eli will be a better QB this season. Can Tiki carry this offense like he did last year? I agree with westbrook on the LB situation and Arrington will not play a full season. Secondary is suspect.
I'm not going to make any predictions as this whole division is up for grabs, with the exception being dallass. To much trouble with TO, O-line, RB and Jerry Jones. I can honestly say that I can see them in last place at the end of this season.

But he's not, that's the thing. Eli lacks...something that I can't quite put my finger on...fire, passion, will to win, etc. Whatever it is, he doesn't have. I don't buy into all this "he leads by quiet example crap." I don't think the Gints buy into it either. I happen to think the word in the meadowlands is that people in the organization must be concerned about Eli's development. He's got some good/great qualities, but his mechanics, some of the balls he throws and his vision make me question his ability to reach the next level. I think he'll be a good qb, but never a great one. I guess we'll see.

I'm thinking you are way off base with this prediction. Are you making this assumtion from one preseason folly?
When the defense gets it act together (dont worry, they will) they are going to be extremely dangerous.I am not looking forward to facing them this year.
I think they will finish on top again, if not second. HTTR bother! I want the crown as much as everyone else, but the Giants have all the peices of the puzzle now. They just have to get them together.

I'm not sure what to make of the Giants. They are just kind of.. there. At least thats how I view it. I only seem to be hearing about three teams. The Eagles (because I go searching for the news), The Redskins because I'm on here and the Cowboys because of TO. The Giants are just... blah. I could really care less what they do.

He lead the Giants to 11-5 that seems pretty good.

If you happen to think that the word in the meadowlands is that people in the organization must be concerned about Eli's development then we must be doomed because I have to believe that you are on the email list with all the Giants coaches.

Don't make stuff up it makes you look stupid

    Speaking of LaVar ...

I understand they've moved him to the strong side. Interesting.

On the one hand, he had his best seasons as a pro playing SAM under Kurt Schott and Marvin Lewis. On the other hand, what set LA apart in the first place was his athletic ability and burst in space chasing down RB's, which is not taken full advantage of playing over the TE.

The Skins finally moved him to the weak side and, under Gregg Williams, hoped to get him cranked up as the playmaker his athletic ability cried out for him to be. Except that his lack of discipline apparenly enough of a problem, coupled with the lost range and explosion with the chronic knee problem, that they opted not to play him at all for long stretches. And ultimately, when the money and loose lips issues reached critical mass, decided to let him walk.

Now, the Giants, apparently recognizing reality already, are moving him back to SAM. Meaning they understand already that he's no longer the LA who came into the league with LT potential, and are holding out hope that he's at least still capable of having an impact covering the TE and rushing the passer.

Or maybe I'm just overthinking this and he'll be healthy, coached up and ready to rock for 16 weeks come opening day.

The Giants run stopping ability will not get any better this season, as their interior lineman are awful. Without run-stuffers to keep lineman off of Pierce and the linebackers, teams will be able to play ball contol and keep Eli off the field, not to mention emasculate the pass rush. Couple that with the hardest schedule in the NFC, and it's going to be a long year for the Giants.
