Default Anybody here ever won a Redskins "Fantasy Job"?

A big Hi to all my skinfolk.

I was curious if any of you have ever won the Washington Post's Redskins Fantasy job or know someone that has?

    http://www.redskins.com/news/newsDetail.jsp?id=8458

I got a call today from my sister-in-law's husband. He won and will be the "Redskins Assistant Sideline Photographer" for the game vs. the Jets this weekend.

He was gracious enough to offer me the other ticket and the chance to tag along w/ him on this grand adventure.

From what I understand, we go on the field during warm-up before the game....get dream seats.....goal line 1st row and during 1/2 time go to the press box.

    Sounds cool as hell.

Just curious what else to expect - do's & don'ts. It would seem as if I should not embibe as one normally does during a normal tailgate.

Guess I'll need to plan my wardrobe as well....I'm thinking my Extremeskins black hat and my "00" Grumpy Vet jersey.

Anybody have any experience w/ something like this?

    GV

I entered that many times last year with no result. Congratulations on the opportunity. Your planned atire seems fine and I would have to agree with the showing of self-controll during pre-game. Have fun!

You have to be a resident of Maryland or DC to enter. That's the biggest BS part of the whole contest. They do deliver the Washington Post here in Delaware.

Isn't that LaVar on the top of the Dream Job page, just photoshopped slightly?

Did your sister-in-law's husband have to endure getting his head repeatedly banged by the door as the Skins were exiting their locker room (like that poor schmoe they show in the commercials at FedEx)?

That rules man, all the stars are going to be on the sidelines for the whole 2nd half, so you should get plenty of oneliners from the likes of CP and Santana etc.

    Have fun you lucky cad!

    Thanks everyone -

I'm looking forward to it. I'm not sure if my sister-in-law's husband had his head banged in a door or he banged someone influential or he has pictures of someone being banged (did he buy the pictures Jacobs used to use to blackmail the coaches??)....and frankly - I don't care.

I'll take a bunch of pics......only way this could be mo' betterer is were it against Dallas.....

Anybody have any personal messages to any of the players while we walk the sidelines?

Thank goodness Jacobs is gone - if I was wearing my Grumpy Vet jersey and he saw me on the sidelines I have no question in my mind that he'd Westbrook (pugilistic WR) the hell outta me.

You'll hate it GV. Seriously... I did it once, it was terrible.

They made me lug about 2000 lbs of media equipment from the truck in the parking lot to inside the stadium. It took about 20 trips and 2 hours. By that time, I had missed the entire pre-game and I was not allowed to re-enter the field... only to discover that the 'dream seats' were in fact obstructed view seats underneath a leak in the upper deck. We got dripped on the entire game.... absolutely miserable.

Tell you what I'll do though... because you've been such a great guy over the years, I'll go ahead and take those tickets off your hands for you. OK... I'll even give you $20 for them, 'cause I would just hate for you to experience something like that.

PM me and I'll let you know my mailing address.

    ....
The soldiers gave three cheers as they urged their tired horses north across the uneven hills. Some of the mounts, exhausted after a week of almost continual marching, began to lag behind; others, spurred on by their enthusiastic riders, began to edge past the regiment's commander. "Boys, hold your horses," Custer cautioned; "there are plenty of them down there for us all."

That sounds horrible! I'm out. Tell you what...you ride your bicycle on up here and meet me in front of one of the recycle bins outside the stadium and I'll gladly hand the tickets over to you.

As always - love the input zoony.

You are exactly correct. You think it woulda just been easier getting a new picture of say CP? than doing the whole photoshop.

The closest I can come to a Redskins fantasy job is in the EA Head Coach video game where I can be the Redskins Head Coach & GM. Oddly when you replace Gibbs you can hire him as an assistant.

Here are a few pics that I thought I'd share from our experience.
    I haven't had a chance to re-size the pics....they are all a meg+...

My buddy and I took over 300 pics. I hope to do some cropping and sorting this week. I'll post the link to those pics once I have them in some type of order...but until then -

Great time. Thanks Skins and Washington Post. I loved each and every one of my 6 free hotdogs.

    I never saw zoony.
