patten has also proven he drops passes against backups and has alligator arms........Originally Posted by kevinklein
Yeah, Preseason stats can get one into trouble. While it seems Farris is playing pretty well now, stepping it up further against top defenses is another story.

I can agree with that. I watched Patten short arm a few and drop a few more passes. I have been less them impressed with him. I have a hunch Patten really doesnt like being the 4th option on the team and Farris has been impressive. Infact, right after Patten short armed a pass in the Jets game, the very next play Farris caught like a 17 yd first down. (It was on a third and long I believe) My hope is we trade for Duckett, getting rid of Patten.
Why would we trade for duckett? We have are men. Have you heard davis is looking for a job and went to the skins but i think they passed him up. I believe patten is good, he is four in the depth chart so in preseason i would believe he is being double teamed. I am not sure tho... i am here in dc right now and the drinking kept me rom watch all the game. And jimmy couldn't catch a rash in the playoffs last year.
Didn't Farris drop that beautifully thrown long ball by Campbell in the first preseason game??...Hit him in the hands and just bounced off...Originally Posted by 909997

Preseason stats? I almost spit my beer all over the screen.

Btw, I'm pretty sure McCants was one of the top receivers in the league during Spurrier's first preseason...that worked out well, eh?
I keep saying...we need to go get Dirk Diggler from the movie "Invinceable"
He'd be a great #5 wide out...lol
After he dropped that beauty of a pass by Campbell, I don't know that I trust those stats much.
Farris is also a good insurance plan on special teams. I say we can trade Patten(not that we should) but if we get the right deal.

moral: you don't base performance on numbers in the preseason.
McCants was our preseason leader Gibbs' 1st year...
Farris sucks - didn't any of you see him in the regular season last year. To all the Patten haters, just take a good hard look at how much our passing game went into the toilet after he got hurt and we had to rely on the likes of Jacobs and Farris... pathetic.

How yall Skins fans gonna have one thread about a guy and his pre season perfomance, and then spend 16 pages telling Cowboys fans how meaningless the pre season is.
