Default Moss said "Brunell won us some games"

In the post, Moss said that "I'm always going to back him because when it all falls apart, I've seen him win games for us".

I can't remember any games that Brunell won for them, short of the Dallas game, which could be argued that it was Moss who won that with his speed. I know it's a team sport, but was there a clear game that anyone can point to and say it was ALL Mark Brunell? You can say that about other QB's, Manning, Favre, McNabb, Vick, Brady, etc, and I'm not saying that all of those are great QB's. But Brunell? I'm confused.

Granted....I'd rather Moss make that quote than be like T.O. and say he hates his QB. But does Moss REALLY believe that?

I'm not trying to start another MB debate here, I'm just trying to find out if ANYONE can really give MB credit for "winning games for them", or if it's just good "teammate talk".

Yes Brunell made plenty of crucial third down and other plays last year, especially with his legs. That 1st Dallas game, if he doesnt make that huge run near the end, that game is lost for sure.

I guess my view of "winning games" is different. Personally, I view it more as leading a team from behind, not getting crucial 3rd down because your top 3 defense MIGHT give up a score.

You have to consider that a quarterback does not need to win games by himself. That's what the purpose of a rb, wrs, special teams and defenses are for!

It doesn't matter what color RG3 is because when he steps behind center, we all bleed burgundy and gold...

Truth is there were quite a few times late in a game when he did use his legs on third and long to keep our hopes alive. And most of those times we were behind.

He kept us in the Philly game, last week of the year, which you could say was the most important game of the season.

Moss is actually a lurker here and is trying to get everyone off Brunell's back.

I've thought about it, and the only game brunell won for us last year was the dallas game, and one could argue that moss won that one too. the same goes for the seattle game. Beyond that, there is not one win that brunell played more than a negligible role in. Also, those 2 wins were early LAST SEASON, the only time we've ever really seen a healthy mark brunell. He fell apart as we progressed through the season last year, and our offense right now is no better than the one we put on the field in the playoffs last year - which is downright shameful. Brunell doesn't look healthy right now, so yea, it's basically 2004 all over again.

To quote my girl Janet Jackson, "What has he done for me lately." Moss is definitely PC, I'll tell you that much. They will get it together this week, hopefully. I think that I will have to crawl under a rock next week at work if we lose to Houston.

Uh, no. That 3rd down run he had against Dallas wasn't for a first down, and if we hadn't converted on the 4th down pass to Thrash, we lose that game, period. There just wasn't enough time left. That was a great play Mark made, along with the bombs to Moss.

True but you need some one to pull the trigger on those 3rd down conversions by running or throwing which is what Brunell did. I think this guy is shouldering too much of the blame. I am not a huge Brunell fan but he is not the reason why they are losing it is a team there is plenty blame to go around not just one person.

Try reading more carefully. I think that was covered when I said "I know it is a team sport"

But to those who are reading and contributing valueable discussion:

I'm not disputing ANY of the plays mentioned above, and obviously some of you have better memories than I do, which I think my original post hinted at.
BUT, I find it ironic that most of the plays he is given credit for "winning games" are runs, when everyone in the world knows that he has no legs anymore. Is this to say that the ONLY way he'll win games for us this year is with his legs? God help us all!

Nice to finally see some common sense around here this week.
