    Default Adam Archuleta

Yeah I know he sucks. But what I'm trying to figure out is why we picked up a safety who was (only) a run stopper when we had the best run defense last year. We should have kept Clark imo so that there would have been more chemistry within the defense but does anyone know why that decision was made?

AA biggest problem is his contract,if we signed him for cheap, or if he takes a pay cut next season, then i would be fine with him.i think him and carter (who is improving each game)will turnout ok.the problem wit hthe D this year is simple the injury bug.and the fact Marshall and Holdman our actually starters here

Did Clark want more for his renewed contract or was Archuleta a big time name that the front office just HAD to have?

Yeah, pretty much...it was a huge mistake and underscores the need for a competent GM, not Vinny "da gooch" cerrato

AA was signed to blitz and play the run. The first thing out of Vinny's mouth was how many career sacks AA has. The Defensive staff thought that AA would be a more physical presence than Clark. Clark was sent to blitz several times last year and only had 1/2 of a sack. Clark was usually easily handled by the running back when he blitzed. I don't believe AA is being used as per the original plan.

For all of you Ryan Clark fans out there...go watch the game footage from last year's San Diego loss at home...and you'll realize why he is no longer a Redskin...

Hint - think...50 yard run for game winning score by LT...

Ryan Clark's inability to tackle...strongly outweighs his slight ability to cover...

The reason why AA can't play in the box like he was originally going to is because our corners are pathetic this year. Also, how can everyone call out AA like he is the reason our d sucks this year. I would put more blame on the defensive line and linebackers; Marcus Washington specifically, who have been absolutely horrible and undermining the whole team.

Not too many cornerbacks or safeties can stop LT one on one especially the safety who usually isn't really a big guy (except for Sean Taylor who can stop anyone and anything). Right now our cornerbacks and lack of coverage are a bigger problem than our run defense. Besides Clark's tackling issues could be improved on.

although I do miss the chemistry, Clark is not the physical presense that Archuleta is

look at Clark in Pittsburgh... that defense just made Vick look like a QB

Washington and Marshall have both played well. The problem is Holdman and the bad CB play. ST and AA don't have the liberty to roam around in center field like they were meant to, and AA also can't be sent on a blitz because ST can't cover both deep halves. Holdman can't tackle my grandmother.

Adam Archuleta is not a bad player for the last time. They have him playing a different position then he did at St. Louis (Pass Rusher). I know when you see him come up for the late blitzes, your like, holy crap, cause he moves in there with no problem on the qb. Also, hes playing on a real football field now. Our turf and the Artificial turf are two different things.

I am hoping that Adam gets a better understanding of Greg William's defense over the next couple of weeks ... and, then show cases his talen.

He is a hard hitter, and young...

First of all, did you get a glimpse of Reggie Wayne's 52 yarder? AA got a glimpse of him too as he ran by his ass. He's not paid to rush the passer.

Players have to play on all kinds of surfaces. We have grass and artificial fields at Redskins Park. Indy has field turf and he didn't play well.

I think the only thing AA does well is Blitz. He really needs to improve his coverage skills and reads.

So Acheuleta is better in tackling right? Maybe he surprise me in a few weeks, but he hasnt shown the physical style of play yet this season
