That is totally different than what is going on here. These guys are using a lawyer to organize their messages to their congressmen. They're not going on TV or to the NY Times and bad-mouthing or questioning anyone in particular. They are asking their congressmen to support the withdrawal of troops from Iraq. Apples and oranges.

You know exactly what they are doing. They are using a lawyer and a loophole to get out an anti-war stance, knowing full well it will go public. Not that THEY went public with it , "But gosh darnit our lawyer went public with it"

    Pretty sad in my view

Do a google search on the young seaman's name. They are hardly doing this quietly. They are questioning the orders of the commander-in-chief in a very public manner. If they weren't then how is the article here to begin with? While they may or may not "be in uniform" they are in a "virtual uniform" by associating their name, rank, and service with their opposition to the policy.

And they aren't using a lawyer to organize their messages, they are using a lawyer to organize their movement. Plenty of Soldiers(and I'm sure Airman, Sailors, and Marines) are able to communicate with the elected representative without the assistance of a lawyer.

Like I said...ask their Senators and Representatives to withdraw troops, stop the war, impeach the president, or whatever. Just do not do it publicly until you are out.
