Well, let's just say it's not really a rib.
It is however made up of pork.
It's basically processed pork pressed into a shape that resembles ribs replete with fake "bones".

And I echo the above poster about the cherry pies. They should ALWAYS carry those. They're like crack.

Totally agree. The cherry pies are the best pie they sell. Apple is ok, and the chocolate pie, pumpkin pie, and "Holiday" pie suck. I'll definitely be picking up a McRib or two next month...

And once again, I wouldn't touch it with a...THIRTY NINE AND A HALF FOOT POOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLE!!!

Tried it, loathed it. The only redeeming qualities about Mickie D's, to me is their fries and their desserts.

I didn't know they had cherry pie, though. I'll have to try it if they make a comeback.

Had one yesterday with no pickles. It was very good. BBQ sauce was much better than I remember, and just have to put the pork piece ingredients out of mind and savor the taste.

I might break my McDonald's ban for the McRib. I loved that sandwich back in the day. Anyone remember the Simpson's episode about it with Krusty Burger making it from an endangered animal and it being addictive like crack? lol

I'm not a McDonalds fan (or really much of a fast food fan in general) but the McRib is delicious. I'm fully aware it's probably all the leftover pork pieces they aren't allowed to use in dog food all ground up and pressed into a patty, but once you drown it in barbecue sauce and throw some onions and pickles on it, it is amazing. I'll probably get a couple before it disappears again.
