On a long-term basis though, I think we should find a way to keep the Burgundy pants
I'm thinking:

- White jersey, burgundy pants
- Burgundy jersey, gold pants
- Throwbacks

Between the 70th, 75th, and now 80th anniversary throwbacks, nothing beat the 70th. Those jerseys were just beautiful. I would love to just keep those as our alternates every year. I'm rocking my 70th anniversary Darrell Green jersey for the game tonight.

For regular games, I say burgundy on gold for home, and white on burgundy for away. I think all those bring together the perfect combinations and influences from all our eras when you throw in the darker burgundy of the 70th anniversary uni's.

I like all the anniversary jerseys but this years are sweet. The helmets are awesome too! I will be wearing the current throwback tonight since I had that on at Thanksgiving.

Is the 3-combo limit a newer NFL rule?

I remember teams experimenting with all kinds of crazy combinations ~10 years ago. We did burgundy-on-burgundy, and white-on-white. I know the bears had a blue-on-blue combination they used once for a MNF game in 2002, and does anyone remember Miami with those freaky orange jerseys in a primetime game against us (i still remember the announcer's comment when the Dolphins took the field -- 'and someone in the marketing department had way too much time on their hands').

They must've seen the trend in college football and decided to nip the problem before teams got too creative. (Similarly, the league passed a rule this off-season saying the field must be green, after a few college teams decided to go with red astroturf)

For jerseys and pants colors, I think it's always been that way. Some teams like the Falcons mix and match them all the time though, so it may not seem like it.

Even though we lost versus Carolina, I so liked our '30s-era throwback uniforms in that game -- particularly the old-school, Blackhawkish Indian-head logo on the jersey sleeves -- that I decided to save up my pennies and get myself a personalized throwback jersey emblazoned with the number 33 and BAUGH on the nameplate. And I never spring for the pricier personalized jerseys.

As for our current uniforms, I agree with the sentiment expressed by some on here that we should wear burgundy & gold at home and white & burgundy on the road. I've never been crazy about the white & gold combo, which may have to do with the overly-busy-looking stripes on the sides of the pants as well as the socks. If that part were to be simplified, perhaps I'd better like the white & gold combo.

I love everything about our uniforms except the gold pants. I can not stand the gold pants and will never understand why we wear them as often as we do. The helmets are phenomenal but I think it would be exciting to have an alternate helmet/uniform that isnt related to a throwback of some kind. Here are a few I've found on ebay. I love the black helmet. What do you guys think?

The Gold pants are our history. As to black, our colors are burgundy, gold and white. We don't have black as a color for the skins.

I don't care what anyone says... that white one is clean.

EDIT: And by no means do I want us to change our uni's. I love them how they are now... but I wouldn't mind have any of those helmets in my man cave.
