Yes let's start looking at the free agency market...it has worked so well for us so far.

To quote Dennis Hopper's character from "24", "When Plan-A doesn't work you move onto Plan-B. You don't do Plan-A recycled."

We have been doing Plan-A for so long it's time for a new Plan...you'd think the F-O would get that idea by now. Oh yeah that's right this is Dan Snyder's team...it's all about marketing & creating a buzz about the team with all of the jerseys we get to see at a press conference in April.

Sorry about my ranting & raving...I am just so frustrated by everything I have seen with this team...with the exception of 2 playoff appearances this franchise has been good at generating buzz in March & April....not during the season.

If we get a FA CB, I want either Harper or Samuel, not Clements. Harper and Samuel will be getting reasonable-sized deals.

Remember that Chris Kelsay is a FA also. Ideally, the two FA signings I want are a DE (Smith or Kelsay) and a NT (Sands or Ethan Kelley)

Brown is a good kicker. We should pursue Simeon Rice.

We need to stray from huge contracts and sign good athlets and make them great. Here is a prime example:

    Bad FA choices:

Lance Briggs - should be a great addition. But will demand a huge contract because of his play and his contract dispute with Chicago last offseason. His play can easily drop off coming here.

Nate Clements - has loads of athletic ability and is very young but has not reached the full potential. His play has been lacking as of lately. Was franchised so he will cost a boat load.

    Good FA choices

Cato June - has amazing ability and talent and would complement Marcus very well. We could be rid of Warrick Holdman and move McIntosh into the middle where he could become our leader. Would not cost as much as Briggs and could lock up for a few years

Asante Samuel - very young and already played in many post season games. He has great upside and is always constantly performing at high levels. Will not demand a large contract because he is a #2 corner for NE

Michael Lewis - was demoted to 2nd string but still is a very good S. He knows the philly defense very well and could give us some great insight. Would be an awesome player to have depth wise and since he was demoted the demand money wise has gone down very much!

Lets see, part of the reason we failed miserably is because we went out and signed the big name FA's to fill so called "holes." Well we blew it, and we should just go out and do it again?

Here is an idea, hire a GM, take Snyders checkbook from him in the months of March and early April. Then build this team with young hungry football players, not ones looking for there one and only huge NFL payday.

I am realistic however, and know they will need to sign a few guys after we cut about 8. Most of those should be mid level guys(Jared Allen), not the overpriced huge name(Dwight Freeney).

You obviously have'nt watched Clements lately my buddy is a diehard bills fans so we watch them alot on the ticket.. He is a stud and a sure thing but will be costly.. He is a stud againest the run and will really wack you and is a heckva cover guy..

Lewis is overrated and has basically lost his job in philly and has been platooning with Constadine he ask them for Archuleta money and they laughed..

If the money is right i'd sign Clements and Rice and fill whatever holes you have with cheap vets.. Then go into the draft and tradedown and recoup your pics.. If we trade down into the 20" we can pick up a few day 1 pics that can really help to rebuild this football team..

That could be said for any FA,and if we landed him I would love to see him moved to MLB.he has all the tools to be a great one.great tackler, great strength, speed, range, coverage ability.IMO him and urlacher are very similiar.

Would not cost as much as Briggs and could lock up for a few years McIntosh hasn't been a leader yet and is a little light for a MLB. I'd prefer Rocky and Marcus at OLB with Briggs at MLB.Briggs is a beast, and his agent is drew rosenhaus.

Asante Samuel - very young and already played in many post season games. He has great upside and is always constantly performing at high levels. Will not demand a large contract because he is a #2 corner for NE he'll cost a boatload, don't kid yourself. look at the contracts that smoot and brian williams got and samuels is better than both.

Michael Lewis - was demoted to 2nd string but still is a very good S. He knows the philly defense very well and could give us some great insight. Would be an awesome player to have depth wise and since he was demoted the demand money wise has gone down very much! yeah if he did come cheap he'd be an awesome player but dude went to the pro bowl in 2005,he'll demand a huge contract and get it

Cross off ANY linemen from Arizona. Obviously they can't block worth a ****. If you have the Edge in the backfield and he can't muster more than 3.0 yards a carry then I don't want him here!

Jared Allen and Asante Samuel would be high on my list. I think we need to go low-key this year to get some more "depth" players then "cap eating" players.

I think Clements alone would fix a lot of the problems. One big name then work through the draft is the way to go.
