I guess since I started this thread, I should post an opinion on what I think we should do!
Sign Sands away from the Raiders...He's 6'6" and over 300 lbs. He is also young and can be had cheap.
Sign Adelius Thomas from the Ravens...The guy is a beast and does everything well!
Sign Nick Harper away from the colts. With all of the free agents the Colts have, they won't be able to sign all of them.
Josh Brown is a stud Kicker...I'm a Novak fan since I went to Maryland, but Brown can flat out kick!
I want DRAFT PICKS. Free Agency is bogus. I want DE Gaines Adams from Clemson in the first round...
F*ck free agency...

Only ones I see worth taking that are affordable with our cap space (lack of) and are not going to ask for a boatload of money
Thanks Soup for my sig!!HTTR!!!!!
I'll definately agree with this....maybe the exception being AA if he's as "unhappy" as it seems he is. I don't think he got on the field in the Philly game and against Tampa "I forget his name" played when TV went down??? Hopefully he'll spend the offseason, or most of it, with the team and get better in this defense.Originally Posted by Dana87
The defense, I hate to say or use this as an excuse but it's been killed with injuries. Hurt secondary in the beginning of the year didn't help the front or the blitz. Then the interior of the line gets hurt, arguably the most important part of the D, especially again the run...it leaves the o-line and TE's open to block our LB's and next thing you know the secondary has to stop the run---not good, obviously.
Anyway....all that being said, I want the offense that's on the field now back next year with a healthy Portis. Both sides of the ball has proven that you just don't step into either system and have great success, it takes a year to learn so hopefully this years class proves themselves next season.
Add depth to both lines, the secondary, and maybe a LB...all young depth to be prepared for the future.
Just my humble assestment...opinion....and great optimism that I was right this off-season that we could go 11-5 or have a real ****ty year but be real strong next year with Campbell at the helm.
Worthless Real Estate: 2121 George Halas Drive NW
Canton, Ohio 44708...please call and tell them you're not coming either...(330) 456-8207
I'd like to see Clements and one of those LBs, we can get some lineman in the draft, hopefully an offensive tackle to replace Jansen.
I would like to see very few moves. VERY few - sign some depth. I really don't see Allen getting away from the Chiefs
Exactly what I wanted to say but it took me two or three paragraphsOriginally Posted by Riggo#44

I'd like to have Josh Brown
I would like to see them sign some FAs for depth. Trade who we can, or need to for some draft picks, and start building that way.
Id give my right...uh, you know for Dwight Freeney. He'll be expensive but worth every single penny. Teams really have to account for him, and maybe he could draw a double team every once in a while, unlike some worthless over-paid former 49er that I wont mention.

Hopefully they learn from their mistakes last year and really do it a bit more intelligently this time around. As for the DE thing, I do agree that a bad*** DE should be our first priority. However, I am still under the belief that there are players who are or can be as good as Adams and Moses but don't get as much hype. LaMarr Woodley from Mich being one. Only problem is he could be a bit short for an NFL DE (6'2 I think...but also 270 lbs) but it might not make as big of a difference as some think seeing as how Dwight Freeney is 6'1 and about the same weight. Adams and Moses will both most likely go in the top 10, Woodley probably won't unless he really starts to get more media attention. I've only seen one mock draft out of tons of them that show him in the top 10. That being the case we could seriously consider trading a possible high 1st rounder down to get a lower 1st and pick up a 2nd and 3rd but still pick up Woodley. IMO as I have said before I think we would be making out like bandits if this happened. Woodley is a complete animal who is seriously aggressive, has a chip on his shoulder (our D really needs to get some attitude back), and is a great pass rusher as well as run stopper. In 2006 he has had 11 sacks as well as 15.5 tackles for a loss.
Here is an interesting little article about him (they also compare him to Freeney)

Danny has his eye on this list already I am sure. And he is determined that this time he WILL kick that ball from Lucy.
