    Thumbs Down The turning point

Redskins up 14-0 in the second quarter dominating early on scoring TDs on the first two positions and holding the Falcons on a 4th and 1 inch.

Then Chris Cooley drops a pass on 3rd and 9 that could have picked up a 1st down or at least made the FG attempted closer.

After the missed FG Atlanta goes down field twice and makes it 14-10 at the half.

Was that right after we ran that BS reverse with ARE?

We are killing them with Betts and then we run a some trick reverse that does nothing after we just threw an incompletion on first down. That didn't make any sense to me. Why wouldn't you just keep doing what had been working and hand the ball off to Betts?

Yes the reverse got stuffed but if chris makes that wide open first down catch no one even talks about the reverse anymore....

But no everyone will ignore that play because he caught a game winner last week....BS...

Reverses don't work when we run them as much as we do. Oh well, I suspect that if we run them that much, some trickery could come out of that. Have we faked a reverse or double reverse and thrown a pass yet? If not, it's pointless to run them once every game even with a speedster like ARE.

I think we have with brunell in the game, problem was he managed to take a sack that time if memory serves.

Cooley's drop hurt...but that FG barely missed...that was the turning point right there. I could sense a momentum shift. It would have been a quick answer to their FG. We would have been up 17-3 and would have kicked off to them rather than give them the ball out past the 40 or whatever yard line it was on. They had new life after that miss.

When we stopped them on 4th & inches we had GREAT field position and didnt even gain a first down i dont think...that was a huge killer right there.

    Bingo and bingo.

Hiow many times did we drive to midfield, or to their 40 and NOT score? Seemed like we were a play short all day, and we let them off the hook.

I dont think that was the turning point of the game, but it didnt help. Unfortionatly the turning point was the INT that was ran back to the 20/30. You could feel the energy get drained from everyone.

It's just that they had all this success running Betts, then start going to gadgets. If they keep running like they were, we'd have won the game with Betts getting 40 carries instead of just 28. He easily could have gained 200 yards that day.

We were running the ball down their throats. The change happened with that stupid reverse and missed field goal. I dont know why that supposed genius Saunders decided to get away from the run.

I want Joe Gibbs back at the offensive controls. Saunders' system is not for us.

Exactly. Cooley definitely cost us big time yesteday. His wide open drops were drive killers. I couldn't understand it myself.
