Redskins I have met (meaning I have actually had a conversation with them, not just a quick autograph and move on):

    Darrell Green
    Gary Clark
    Mark May
    Darrell Grant

    Movie Stars I have met:

Julia Roberts when she was filming the movie "Runaway Bride". She was rehearsing out in the street in front of my old office. It was cold that morning...she was sitting on a bench and looked cold. I opened the door, leaned out said: "Ms. Roberts you look cold. You are welcome to come inside and warm up if you want." She looked at me and said..."No Thanks!". Apparently, I am not as charming as I thought.

But...she did stop by later after the rehearsal and say "Thanks for offering earlier...if it gets any colder I may have to step inside." I asked her if she was enjoying the area, etc. She didn't have any make-up on during this rehearsal and all I can say is she is very average w/o the assitance of Hollywood make-up artists.

Also, Richard Gere was there. He stood off to the side and didn't interact with anyone. Later that night, he was at a restuarant a friend of mine owns. He was a jackass to the staff....I heard it...because I was at the table next to him. Dude was a flaming a-hole!

I said hello to Denzel Washington at a restaurant/bar in Dewey Beach. One of the guys I work with....works security at that bar on the weekends. I was talking to him at the front when he was told that Denzel's limo was in the parking lot and he (along with a few others) needed to escort Denzel and his party into the restaurant. I was at the door when they all went by. I said Hello and he smiled and said "good evening." My co-worker said Denzel was cool. He sat in a private dining room, ate a big meal. Order a couple bottles of Tequila for his party...proceeded to get hammered. Was...uhmm..."helped" back to his limo...tipped the waitress and the 3 security guys a $100 a piece and left.

That is all I can think of now.

    Burgold-

Kirk Douglas is really Isser Danielovich Demsky. Back in the 1940's there was a lot of anti-semitism in Hollywood. So he hears about some hottie who doesn't like Jews. He gets her into bed, and then in the middle of it states,

"guess what? a Jew is F-ing you!!"

    that takes serious nads

Knew about the name and that he was Jewish. Didn't know the story. Thanks for sharing.

Worked on Mayor Tony Williams first campaign- in the beginning it was just us volunteers so I would go drinking with him. He is a VERY funny and sarcastic guy.

Stood next to James Carville at the ATM machine. George Stephanopolous lived a few blocks away in Dupont so I would see him around.

Met Governor Ehrlich several times, spoke with his wife and parents. Same with Lt. Gov. Mike Steele who is a very charismatic guy.

In a meeting with Israeli former Prime Minister Shimon Peres. met Mike Dukakis in a small room in Ohio back in 1988.

Have a picture with Newt Gingrich who spoke to us back during college. Have the signatures of most of the 1986 Miami Hurricane football team from when they beat #1 Oklahoma.

George and Laura Bush were crossing the street downtown with me back in 1999 and I was about three feet away from him. No real security back when he was the Governor.

Charles Krauthammer and Justice Steven Breyer have been at my synagogue for services. Saw Charlie Sheen standing around during filming in Georgetown.

Here is one encounter I had with an actor.

The wife and I were in Hawaii back in 1987 and one day we were at Waikiki Beach, the wife went in swimming and I decided to walk the beach a little before I joined her when I see this man jogging up toward me.

He stops about 6 feet from me and was looking out over the water when I realized it was Chuck Norris.

I walked up to him and said "Hi, beautiful day" looking out over the water with him. He then said "Hi" back and turned around looking over the beach now and said, "the view here is not bad either" referring to all the women sunbathing on the beach.

I then said, "You got that right."

He smiled at me and said "Hang loose" giving me the "hang loose" hand sign and returned to jogging up the beach.

I met Redskins Coach George Allen when I was a kid and chatted with him. He was a guest speaker at a Valentine's Day luncheon the women of our church were holding, and he chatted with most of the folks there.

I also met several of the Secretaries the Navy, and dozens of Admirals (I work for a retired Admiral these days as a gov't contractor), as my mom worked in their office at the Pentagon for 38 years and took me to her office now and then when I was growing up. Several SECNAVs, including former SECNAV Webb now VA Senator Webb (even though he was fired from that Navy job later on), attended her retirement party, too.

Now, my husband, Skinsfan44, has met a ton of famous folks, including many Redskins players, some actors and musicians, and one of our former Vice Presidents.

Suzy Kolber and Merrill Hodge - they were at the NFL Experience when I went to Super Bowl 34. Got to talk with them for a while as the place was pretty empty because of the ice storm. She is short...he is too...but she was a tiny little thing.

Janet Jones - an actress who is more famous for being Wayne Gretzky's wife than she is a movie star. That was in NYC on a boat to the Statue of Liberty. Nice lady.

The ESPN College GameDay crew at Bradley airport in Hartford, CT. This was shortly after 9/11 when you were arriving at the airport 4 hours before your flight. Sat in the boarding area with them for a looooooong time...unfortunately, not too much to converse about as I'm not up on college football.

G.H.W. Bush - my Mom was heavily involved in politics back when he was VP. I tagged along to a dinner with her. I mostly listened as others at the table talked with him.

Lowell Weicker - at the time he was a senator...who scalped me tickets to the first Skins game I ever attended at RFK. Yep...I was a teenager then and he charged me and my Dad 3 times the face value of the tickets. That was pretty normal back then (1984 I believe), but just caught me off guard when a politician openly did it. I was stupid enough to later vote for him for Gov of CT where his one big accomplishment was instituting the state income tax.

Paul Newman - this is the most recent one. My brother, an artist, is currently doing work for Newman at his home. He let me tag along as a helper one day. Very, very, very nice man.

Met alot of local tv(DC reas reporters at events).Derrick McGinty is very cool in person.
Should ask him about Traci Neal.

Met alot of celebs at the Bernard Hopkins/Jermain Taylr fight in Vegas. For some strange reason comics were hanging together in the lobby joning on folks.I saw Winky Wright, half of the NBA and half of the hip hop world there.

Met an on air female reporter for New Channel 8/WJLA Channel 7 how i thought was fine, but her breathe smelled like hot s***.

I think she was flirting slightly and wanted the conversation to continue but I cut it short cuz I was about to faint.

    Ah... let's see...

Michael Westbrook #82 - remember him?! heh... Met him while bowling in Sterling/Dranesville. Even tho he was a bust on the field, he was very cordial, signed a bunch of autographs and talked with us a while... Bought us a pitcher of beer too.

Mark Hamil - His wife is from the small town in Illinois where I grew up, so he did appearances at local schools, etc. Nice guy.

Adam West - Meet and greet at a grocery store about 30 years ago... He was funny!

CMA nominated group Hometown News - Went to high school with Ron Kingery and was involved in a music group him one year.

When I was stationed at Mt Home AFB in Idaho, the Air Traffic Controllers that worked up at Sun Valley tower used to come to the base to get their yearly physicals. Mrs Sarge worked in the Flight Surgeons office and worked with the guy that runs the tower, who later invited us up to see the place

So one day we drove up and stopped by the tower. After a little chit chat and a tour the guy said, "A friend of mine is having a party at his house and I'm going over there in a bit" He told us to go on over and he'd meet us there later. So we drive a bit and roll up on a mansion. We looked at the address, thinking we were at the wrong place, but it was correct. So we get out and go knock on the front door.

The door opens and there is

    Arnold

    Smoking a big old stogee.

I said, "Jeff sent us." I know my jaw was on the floor

Arnold broke into a big smile and said, "Ahhhhh, Jeff. Come on in!"

He showed us around the place a bit and intro'ed us to a few people.

He was cool as hell. Not as tall as I thought

When my bud Jeff showed up later, I wanted to kick him in the nuts for not telling us whoo lived there, and told him so

He just laughed, then took us back over to talk with Arnold a bit.

After awhile Jeff said, let's go into town. Bruce Willis hangs out in a bar down there, plays music and gets sloshed

We went looking but he wasn't home
