Hip Hop/Rap without a doubt.
While I enjoy the MUSIC that these genres play, the general lack of audible lyrics is a huge turn off for me. Of course the lyrics being inaudible is probably a good thing since the messages being sent to the listenting audience by many of the musicians in this genre and disturbing at best and border on what should be criminal all too often.
I don't care what came out of country, modern country is extremely bleh. I cannot listen to it.
Country and Jazz created some of the best music out there.

Techno IMO. It's like "Hey, let's listen to machines instead of actual musicians!"
Ditto. It's like the opposite of classical.Originally Posted by Midnight Judges

Bluegrass didn't even make the list, so I guess it can't be the worst.![]()

The worst type of music at any given time is always the genre which, at that point in time, is receiving the greatest amount exploitave record-label saturation. In this era, the answer is Hip-Hop/R&B.
I agree with this although I hate techno even more. Old school country seems to have soul. I can appreciate that. New country is ungodly generic and most of the people are better to look at than to listen to.Originally Posted by DCsportsfan53

Chinese Opera. Screechiest, most dissonant stuff I've ever heard. It's possible that I've only heard bad Chinese Opera though, but the three times I've been subjected to it I've left with major headaches.
I was raised around country music, but listen mainly to rock. Although I do like some Hip/Hop, it's mainly the dance and mainstream and not the hardcore rap. Remember you can't spell "crap" without "rap".
I don't have a problem with bluegrass. They tell me my grandfather was a banjo player in a bluegrass band way back when. I took some banjo lessons too. It was pretty fun. As far as country goes the only country album I ever bought in my life was the best of Johnny Cash. I still listen to that from time to time.Originally Posted by rincewind
Sorry if I missed something on the poll. I couldn't put every genre on it. That's why there is an "other" option.
