How does everyone feel about our pitching prospects...does anyone know much about Radhames Liz? I would hate to see a repeat of last season...IE watching Bruce Chen(I know he's gone now) throw 70 mph balls all over the place!

Here's what's listed on him from the O's site:Originally Posted by mimarino9

The Baltimore Orioles know they have an electric arm in Radhames Liz. The lanky right-hander struck out 149 batters over 133 1/3 innings last season between Class A advanced Frederick and Double-A Bowie. Along with all the strikeouts, however, the 23-year-old Dominican also issued 75 walks.
He compiled a 6-5 record and 2.82 ERA in 16 starts for the Keys -- including a pair of double-digit strikeout performances -- prior to his promotion in July. For the Baysox, Liz was less than stellar, going 3-1 with a 5.36 ERA.
Liz has pitched just 26 innings over eight games for the Dominican Winter League's Estrellas de Oriente, and he's picked up where he left off. While he continues to rack up strikeouts (32), his control has been an issue (15 walks).
......
Looks like he needs to just work on the control.
sounds like another daniel cabrera...
took the words right out of my mouth. Although Daniel really came around near the end of last season, i expect alot out of him this year.Originally Posted by twenty-eight
maybe some work with Maz is what will help this guy aswell, if indeed that has fixed his control problems....
Imagine though, just for a moment, a rotation that features Loewen as good as he has shown he can be, Bedard, and 2 extremely impressive fireballers.... this could mean good things for our future, I just hope we don't wind up being the Oakland Athletics and developing these guys only to wind up seeing them leave for big money to another team... like the yanks or Rsox
