Why aren't Joey T, D. Williams or Rypian speaking up for #81 Monk? Especially Joe T. he is on Tv and could use it as a soapbox to sway Hall of Shame voters to Monk. This is total BS

if I had a guess it would be becaused Monk told them not to, or never asked them to like some others have.
but who knows, im definatly no expert
I heard Joe T, and Doug Williams both say yesterday that it is a joke that Art is not in the HOF
Theismann was on Dan Patrick's radio show combatting the idea that Monk shouldn't be in the Hall. Patrick went after him some, but Joe help his ground pretty well, and made some outstanding points.
ESPN may not allow him to say things on TV, unless it be in praise of Irvin![]()
Irvin being in the HOF and Monk not being just further invalidates it. Irvin never led the league or retired with any record.
Irvin was the better players and he would've eclipsed Monk's numbers had his career not been cut short.Originally Posted by SkinsFTW
Not if he had the QB's that Monk had, and Irvin never led the league in anything even when he had Aikman and no #2 receiver. Monk had 106 catches in 1984, the most ever, the #2 receiver had 80 that year. What is Irvins claim to fame? Railing a 1-2 foot line singlehandedly?Originally Posted by BlueStar22
Really, that's interesting. Imagine what Monk could have done in the 90's with a HOF QB and RB on his team.Originally Posted by BlueStar22
I think Irvin deserves to be in the hall but to say he was better than Monk is a pile of dung so high it would drown me.
by the same token, think of what irvin would've done if he didn't have a HOF RB. How many times did he help get down in the redzone and Emmitt finished off the drive.Originally Posted by rebornempowered
Kinda easy not to lead the league when you also sacrifice your touches to the all-time leading rusher. More cocaine/crack jokes, how original. That what's makes it great to have him in first. God has forgiven him, why can you? No matter how an individual turns their life around, only the bad will be remember. Irvin was a great receiver who played big in big games and was the heart and soul of the Dallas Cowboys.Originally Posted by SkinsFTW
Take this crap to the other Monk thread, no need to rehash the same stuff in yet another thread.Originally Posted by BlueStar22

Don't get Joey T started on #81 not being in the H-O-F...that is one subject where he gets livid...last year he called Peter King out on ESPN radio to debate him on the subject...three guesses what Peter did? (Hint: Joey T was the only who showed up).

Doesn't remove the fact that he never had an elite #2 and led the league in catches or anything for that matter. Monk had Riggins and no good QB and still set records.Originally Posted by BlueStar22
What Zoed said. There are several threads with this subject already in play and you can come to Mike's defense there. If you wish to continue with your bad timing, those would be the places to do so. Otherwise, you're tempting fate here and drawing what may come to be unwanted attention to yourself. Just some advice from a fellow who spends probably a bit too much time here.Originally Posted by BlueStar22
As for Joey T. and the crew. Someone already mentioned it. They've said something. Haven't heard from Ryp but if he's given the opportunity, yeah, he'll say someting. Joey T. has a job to do and there are obligations with that job. Not his place or job to work in a private agenda. That said. I know nobody here honestly believes that Joey T., given the opportunity, (as in asked his opinion), wouldn't say something. He is many things, but unopinionated isn't one of them. I'm betting he gets his time to say something and he will.
