Default Wizards Message Board... doesn't like this forum...

So I lurk over at the Wizards RealGM forum (I'm sure there are some lurkers or cross-posters). There was a thread on the Wizards section of ES. Here is what one of their mods said...

That is seriously some lame and snobby ****... and I don't care if that person is reading this. I don't see ES as a competitor to RealGM... as I'd always thought hardcore Wiz fans would be over there, and this would be for us who casually follow the games.

Will I get a warning for mentioning RealGM? This discussion probably ends up in Tailgate....

I dont think it has anything to do with them hating this forum. A wizards fan is a wizards fan. I just think they want to keep their membership as high as they can over there. The mods over here would do the same thing if someone was advertising another site on here.

As a member of RealGM, I honestly feel that the quality of posting there is a lot better than here. I'm tired of people trying to argue here that Blatche is going to become a superstar. Over at RealGM, posters are more rational and just...smarter. You've got some quality posters here (ie spearhead) but a lot of people just do not know what they are talking about.

RealGM is cool, but what I liked about here is that it was more from a fan-perspective and not a know-it-all perspective, there are a lot of guys at Real GM that really really know their stuff, but there is more trade talk than I like to hear sometimes when I'm just mancrushing on Les Boules.

Now this forum is kinda like the remains after a post-nuclear war ice-age, everyone is running around crazy, nobody knows what to do, but society will sort itself out like it tends to do.

Man I wish Caron would travel on his jab step so much. Anyway. yeah ES rules.

Some dude on RGM called Paul Milsap being a beast as a rookie way way pre-draft, and I didn't believe him, he was so right - I forget his name, but yeah - that impressed me even if it was a shot in the dark.

Hard core over there and casual here? Is that the problem. I need to go over there because I'm a hardcore posting with casual fans?

I think we have plenty of hardcore fans here.

I think its great that there's more than one Wizards board on the net!

There are more than enough Wiz fans out there to support multiple boards. No need for anyone to compete.

I read this board alot simply b/c i like hearing different opinions about the Wiz...whether I agree or not. I think its awesome ES is growing (much like realgm has been), but with more posters...this board will experience some growing pains. It's only natural.

But its also up to the veteran board members here to provide leadership to the newer ones. To show 'em how its done 'round here...especially if this place is not going to be moderated.

    Just my

    Peace...

too true, I just dig the ES vibe on everything, but for hardcore info? Real GM. Who would I want to have a beer with? ES, no contest.

Hardcore? Yes, maybe. Knowledgeable? Mostly no. I will be the first to admit that I do not know the nuances of BBall, but I also don't go on crazy rants about stuff I don't know about around here. I can't say the same for a lot of the other people on this board...

Well, I have to check it out over there. It would be great to read more knowledgeable stuff.

It it kind of frustrating that a lot of knowledgeable posts over here are contested.

I was apart of that board a little while back. For some reason I didn't like it too much. I don't know if there weren't many users at that time, but the information was subpar in my opinion. The same threads would be regenerated and not much would be responded to. Hardcore fan or casual fan, I like the input of as many people on as many subjects, even if the seem sub par.. I think we have more variety here.

not terrible...people criticize him a lot for his substitution patterns...but they realize in the greater scheme of things, there is no one we could pick up who would be better than him. I think people have to remember EJ has been a head coach for only 6 years (2 with the Kings, 4 with us). As he grows as a head coach, I think he will get better.

What I like about RealGM is that people will back up their arguments by going to the stats. Kevin Broom, who goes by TheSecretWeapon, is such a stats genius that he writes articles for nbcsports.com. Furthermore, the Wiz board does not get clogged up with threads. Everything is organized and laid out on the board.

I think the board consensus there is that we should draft Herbert Hill from Providence.

Maybe I shouldn't have said hardcore in my original post. I just think the 2 forums can co-exist and someone shouldn't get banned over there for mentioning that ES has a place to talk about the Wizards.

I would agree with most of the sentiment posted about the posters there putting more thought into their posts, but it's a Basketball board talking about basketball. I appreciate lurking and reading there a lot... I just wish I knew how to connect to their IRC room via mIRC client...

    This forum kicks ass.

Kinda reminds me how the stadium used to be.
