I know. One pitch in the Gibby ab looked like it was right there, and called a ball. Then the 3-1 pitch was 3 inches outside of that for strike 2. huh?

Mora is not a very good offensive player anymore is he?

The middle of our order was money (Tejada, Huff, and Gibbons) but we need some other guys to step up.
"Washington strolled to the NFC championship, outscoring their two playoff opponents by a combined total of 48 points. Their domination was more than impressive, it was historic. The 1991 Redskins boasted the largest average margin of victory among all Super Bowl champions."

Hard to guage this early. He got robbed by White with a great diving catch, he he was a victim of the growing Kzone too.

Still, Mora doesn't deserve to hit out of the 2 hole

You know, you never like to see an L, but after so many losing seasons with a W maybe it was time for something different. Here's hoping D-Cab's new eyesight is money tomorrow.

I was worried about today with Bedard's last start, he looked shaky there too with some mild control problems. Last night he looked lost at times, he wasn't able to locate the ball half the time anywhere near where he wanted and he and Bako got crossed up a little. I bet the whole getting used to each other thing with Bako and Bedard hurt a little there. Hernandez would have known how to better work with Bedard and the stuff he had out there I think. Santana was a little of his game too so I think we can chalk it up to opening day for both of them and say that Santana had the home crowd advantage (kinda like Lopez in last year's opener). The other starters in the division didn't look all that well either with the D-rays getting shelled, Pavano giving up 6 in less time than Bedard, Schilling getting shelled by the Royals, heck the only good performance was Halladay at 3 runs in 6. And he got a ND on the day like Pavano. I am not pleased but with the way Bedard has shown he can pitch I think he has earned the benifit of the doubt on this one that he won't be like this very often this year.

That 3 run inning for the O's was really off the wall though... Markakis draws a walk from an 0-2 count on 4 straight pitches and was the only lefty to bat that inning not to get a double, mean while every righty that batted got an out.

Lets see what we can do with the rest of this series, Hopefully we can go 500 on the road, that would be really the best we can expect, we can hope for more though.

I'm really excited about Cabrera pitching tonight...I'm gonna guess 8 K's in just over 6 innings and the O's get their first win of the year!

I will reserve judgments on Cabrera for a few games on wether or not he has turned the corner, a couple years ago he looked just as good if not better in spring training than this year and his first start I think everyone remembers quite well unfortunately. We shall see and Hopefully it is not 8 Ks and 4 walks in 6 innings, I would rather see 6 Ks and 2 Walks in 8 innings after what our bullpen had to deal with last night.

Parrish looked great out there last night. I think he could close if Ray goes down or is traded despite Baez being on the roster.

Markakis punched 2 tickets to the gun show in one game. 2 serious ropes and his body posture and timing were ideal. Tom Emanske like fundamentals!

I think West's srtike zone was terrible. Just terrible. Bedard needs that pitch on the outside black afainst righties.

Tejada showing power and range w the glove early is a good, He HAD to come up with that liner late in the game though. That was 2 runs there against a possible double play.

I think Mora looked a lot better than his stat line.

We can't lose to some guy named "Boof."

I agree with everything you said especially ^^

Edit: OF93p, Felix Hernandez was really the only ace who had his best stuff on opening day...

Get healthy Ramon, cause if Bako looked lost catching Bedard, Cabrera could get outta hand.

I cant wait to see Cabrera pitch tonight..But I was also excited to see Bedard last night..I think the next 2 games are winnable for us, if Cabrera doesnt walk to many batters, and same goes for Wright.

i didnt get too watch the game, i had a baseball tourny to play in, but it sounds like Bedard pitched like ****, and we scored a decent amount of runs off of Johan. I hope Cabrera's dominant tonight.
