    Default The Spinks Jinx

115-113 on my card for Cory Spinks

It was boring, it was defensive, but Spinks took advantage of someone with no boxing skills. Can't beat a man if you can't hit him.

I'm aware the judges scored it for Taylor and it could easily have been Taylor's fight. I just find it amazing that a guy who had no power at 147, couldn't take a clean punch from Zab Judah, can go out there and hold his own for 12 rounds with this young powerful middleweight 'champ' Jermain Taylor

Wow, what a boring fight. I lost track in round like five so I don't really care who won. And I'm a boxing fan.

How can you say Spinks won? I'm not saying Taylor fought all that well but Spinks really didn't do **** after the second round.

The undercard match was great. I hope Kelly Pavlic faces JT for the title...

Taylor didn't do anything either though. Neither guy landed punches, but one guy was more active, showed great defense, and actually showed some semblance of ring generalship.

Taylor fought a guy who is really a 147 pound fighter. He's at fighter that at welterweight had no power and no chin. Yet Taylor didn't have **** for him. The fact that someone with no chin and no power went 12 rounds with this "great" "powerful" middleweight "champ" is enough for me to give him the fight. You've got to be one hell of a boxer to be able to hold someone much stronger off of you when you have no power or chin.

Taylor landed some punches though. Again I'm not saying he fought all that well either, but he fought better than Spinks.

I didn't see it that way. I had it 7 rounds to 5. Taylor didn't do enough to win the fight in my opinion. I had it 5-5 after 10 and thought Spinks took the last two rounds.

Taylor landed the harder shots. Can't take a title away from the champ if you don't consistently land clean hard shots on him

Boring ass fight. Was like watching a chess match where the players just move their pawns around.

Hard to score, round for round maybe Jermaine wasn't the clear winner, but his rights were the best punches of the fight.

Pavlik was impressive, to say the least.

I agree with that. He pretty much dominated.

You know I used to like Taylor, and I understood his dancing and reluctance to stand toe to toe with Hopkins, but tonight he jumped the shark for me. I now think that he is nothing but a *****. Yeah I said it, a *****. I can't wait to see him Pavlik fight.

You're wrong about Taylor. He'll KO Pavlik in 8, the fight will be great though.

I had the fight scored a draw, but with each passing fight JT gets less and less impressive.

I think Floyd could come out of retirement, move up in weight (again) and win a wide decision over him. I think the most likely scenario is that Taylor flees the division and an impending ass whipping by Kelly Pavlik and gets slapped around for 12 rounds by Joe Calzaghe.

Calzaghe would destroy Taylor. And MBoyd don't you see? Taylor isn't knocking anyone out. He's too scared to stand with anyone. Hopkins ruined him.
