good read
def good read. I like where we are headed.
it's all about patience...
heading into the second half of the season, it will be interesting to see what Chico and Bergmann do in extended time. Also if Hill comes off the DL and is able to string together two quality months in August and September.
but it is painfully clear, though, that while we can talk about the young pitchers here and now in the farm system, that watching the Nats at the plate in 2007 is the bitterest pill to swallow.
as the article makes clear, the performance or lack thereof of players like Kearns, Lopez and Church has in no small part contributed to the record.
Kearns was expected to be a 20-25 hr/80-85 rbi player. Lopez was by all accounts penciled in for a .280 batting average and perhaps 15 homers to go with 70 rbis.
Instead the club has gotten bupkis.
Ryan Church has a couple of months to prove he belongs on a major league roster as more than a depth player off the bench.
Nook Logan is another player whose fortunes couldn't sink any deeper.
that is true, you would hope that the players they were depending on to be core pieces of this thing going forward were producing more, but hopefully they'll, Kearns and Lopez at least, pick it up in the 2nd half. Because if Zimmerman is the only guy on this roster now that is going to be here in 2 years, then we are way further behind than we even thought we were.Originally Posted by bulldog
