    Default Dec. 21, 2012- The end of the Mayan Calander- End of the world?

    The Mayan calanders ends on 12/21/12. So what happens then? Goodbye earth? War? Enlightenment? Aliens? Disasters?

    All that means is that the Mayan's didn't have anything scheduled on or after December 22 2012. Probablly booked time off for Christmas Break.

    It is an interesting question just based on the level of accuracy they were able to achieve in predicting future solar/celestial events. Especially given the technology at the time the calendar they made is nothing short of astounding.

    Their date representation probably did not accomodate higher numbers, sort of Y2K bug.

    What's odd is that a lot of "end of the world" dates are also around 2012, and not just the Mayan calendar. But, we'll probably say good-bye to Earth because of War, followed by a period of Enlightment, and then the Aliens invade, which disaster for all of us.
