In '05 we had guys like Sellers and Ryan Clark doing an excellent job while laying relatively low. Who do you think will be successful "role players" for this years team and why?

Brandon Lloyd and Carlos Rodgers.
Brandon Lloyd will make a significant impact this year and it will take the heat off of Moss, Cooley, Portis and others.
Carlos will come into his own this year and be able to shut down most of the receivers he lines up against. He will have 4 - 7 INT's.
Those are my thoughts.

Justin Hickman the rookie Defensive End
This is the year that Dallas falls from grace
London Fletcher - He knows Williams defense inside and out and will be calling the signals. His play will be good, but the important thing about him is that he will put the rest of the defense in position to make plays.
Randy Thomas will be gettin more run plays called his way due to Wade's inexperience at LG. His punishing blocks and ability to pull will be an important factor to our successful running game.
I'd have to say London Fletcher...hes been the unsung hero for the bills for a long time...he'll come in do a great job and the nfl still wont recognize him as being an elite MLB
Salave'a. It all starts in the trenches.
Unsung hero to me means a guy who makes a significant contribution but largely goes un-noticed. With all respect to the previous posters, if Carlos Rogers makes a big contribution (read: learns to catch) it will be easy to spot. The same goes for Lloyd and Fletcher, IMO.
I think the real unsung hero will be the left guard, whomever that may be. Right now, my money's on Todd Wade. But if our running game doesn't miss a beat after the loss of Dockery, the guy at Rabach's left hand will be the reason.

If Todd Wade (or whoever ends up starting at left guard) makes a significant contribution, it will definitely get noticed and mentioned.Originally Posted by honorary_hog
My vote goes to either Thrash or Marshall...if they make a noticeable contribution, it will be overshadowed by the play (goor or bad) by ARE and Lloyd, and Fletcher and McIntosh, respectively.
We'll be talking up a storm about it here, Cali, I just wonder how much national media attention, or even in-game attention will be paid to it by the national broadcasters. I'm guessing a quick mention, and not much more.Originally Posted by Califan007
I think we're more educated about the game than the fans of most teams; especially where the O-line is concerned. Hell, for a lot of us, our favorite player in team history is an offensive lineman. You don't see that anywhere else.

Ade Jimoh.
Ah, gotcha...in that context, I agree with you about Todd Wade (or whoever starts at guard) being the unsung hero.Originally Posted by honorary_hog
Sean Springs for staying healthy all season. Springs won't get much attention because teams will be going after Rogers, Smoot, or whoever else is over there.
Wyvern
Rock Cartwright...He will take two to the house and simply give us good starting field position every time he catches a kickoff. He was unsung last year even though he was outstanding returning kickoffs.
