Hey 21, what is wrong with the search function alot of the time? It always comes back with these crazt codes and numbers and address type stuff..

I dont understand? Is it just me? I have problems on both my computers using it.

Both involve changing the memory limits. I've seen it changed from 12 to 16 to 20MB...I guess it all depends on the site.

The search function has long been a pain; we all know this. But let's make the situation a little more clear. I use it almost every day and it works a lot more often than some people like to say.

It actually works more often than not overall. For those really counting, that means it works greater than 50% of the time. I usally use the simple drop-down forum search rather than the advanced search. But there are those days times when for a period of time it just doesn't do squat.

Which is one reason why members are expected to do a visual check of the first 2 pages, and if you're unsure of whether your thread should go in ATN or the Stadium, or it could go in either, check both before posting to avoid a possible NNT.

Used the search several times already this morning. No problems. Not saying there have been times where the thing hasn't gotten a few severe reactions from me, but overall it does work, Just have to limit the parameters of your search,(which can be a pain at times as well).

You have to agree though, 15 threads on "DJ Hackett", "Trade for Chad", "Gregg is awesome" and "Synder is a jerk" gets real old real fast.

I have been an NNT member in the past and you just have to realize that maybe your personal love of your thread was misplaced. Believe it or not, we do have a tendency to believe that our own thoughts are always the best. The mods are just trying to help keep this place in some kind of order. They, like us, are human and may not catch everyone so naturally some people will feel jaded. It's no different than the police force. Many people speed and don't get caught, but you know that the world is better because of the work they do. Without some governing, things go south very fast.

So everybody take a chill pill and use your eyes to look over the front pages and stop relying on the IT guys programming skills. "Responsibility is the birth mother of success and order."

I got NNT'd without a warning, I couldn't even find what rule I broke. Apparently all I have to do is apologize or something, but I'm not letting my e-rep go down.

There are no gaurantees of warnings on anything. And the only promises made are the ones you make to learn and follow the rules when you register. From the "Welcome" page: "As ExtremeSkins members, your first responsibility is to familiarize yourselves with the rules and abide by them."

In other words, your are the one accountable.

Now I PM'ed you awhile back giving you a warning on a different matter where you obviously, deliberately broke another rule. You responded with no "thank you" or "I'll be more careful," but instead with another display of your ignornace and lack of concern for the rules (your new e-rep, btw) by asking "why did my warning lead to my thread being closed."

I then PM'ed you back explaining how two different matters were being addressed and that I wasn't the mod who closed your thread, but I did give you a link and instruction on how to figure out what you did and what do to do get off of NNT.

Which you still haven't done or you'd know more than you show here in the last line of your post. So, to conclude, as you celebrate your NNT, your poor attitude in these issues to date, and your rebel-without-a-clue e-rep, you can do it away from ES for a week. When you take a push to a shove in these matters, we will always insist on respect for the forum and the rules.

See, this kind of thing is why I LOL when I see the gripes. If the search worked there'd be another excuse, "Well I tried to search for Snyder's a dumb%&^#" or "No hablo ingles". No one ever seems to get NNT'd because of anything they do, it's always a mystery. etc.

Those that get it, have. Those that won't never will.

I hate to think about all that time and compassionate effort by the mods wasted over and over again 'cuz it's a losing battle. This is why I am one of those that advocates the jackboot on the neck.

And now y'all have me wondering, I thought that the square root of Peregrine = 22 but apparently it isn't something that simple.
