Some Fed-ex Game day questions for my more knowledgeable Extremer’s

I live in New Bern NC and this makes only my 2nd trip to fed-ex.

    1. What’s the metro station that you get off to be near the stadium?
    2. Does the Stadium have Wi-Fi?
    3. What’s the best station to listen to the game broadcast on while in the stadium?
    4. Are their tailgate spots that a lot of the extremeskin members hang out? I’d just like to put faces with online handles.

    Thanks for any info!

    3. I find that 100.3 gets the best signal on gameday, at least in the parking lot.

    2. There was an open signal called "Free Public WiFi" or something like that at the last game (Cards). But I could not get an IP address on it. And I had never seen that one before. Other games I've seen locked networks especially as you get closer to the press box. But so far I haven't seen anything I've been able to use. AT&T GPRS/EDGE works outside in the lots, but for some reason not in section 340.

As far as #1 goes, if you get there early and are planning on walking over, Morgan Blvd. is your stop. If you're getting there within two hours of game time (I think) and want to ride a shuttle over, Landover is where you want to go. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Well, this is going to be my First trip to Fed Ex. I'm so excited. I'm bringing my 6 y/o son, brother, and father (their 1st trip too). Our first time ever to a Redskin home game, so I have some questions as well.

    1. What type of ticket do I need to buy for the METRO (from Vienna terminal)? How much would it be?
    2. Can I expect the METRO to be busy on gameday? If so, what time would I need to leave the Vienna station to get to the game?
    3. What time do the gates open at Fed Ex so I can get to my seat? And, do I need to be standing in line early in order to see the pregame warmups?
    4. Any other helpful hints?

Sounds like you guys are going to have a great day. I take my almost 6 year old son and he loves it. And my Dad is coming with us this week, too.

So you buy a normal fare ticket with enough credit on it to get there and back (or more if you want to use it for other things that weekend.) The fare from Vienna to the stadium should be $2.35 per person each way. ($1.95 if your Dad is a senior). Fortunately it's one line (orange) all the the way, you don't need to switch.

    More info here on that.

I've never taken the metro to a game, but judging by the number of people you see lined up for the buses or the walk to the metro, I'd say it's pretty busy. Someone else will have to tell you how much extra time you'll need.

As for seeing the warmups, in my experience there is hardly any line at the ticket turnstiles that early. The lines start to build up closer to kickoff. So once you're on the grounds, getting up to your seats to see the warmups should be quick.

Good luck and have fun. If you haven't done it already, you might want to talk to your son about stadium "language", which he will probably unfortunately hear, especially in a tight game against Philly. And make sure he get's plenty of rest of water because kids gets pretty tired on the trip back. Mine is lights out about 30 seconds after getting into the car.

Can't listen to radio during the game, waaaaaay too much of a delay. My radio picks up the tv audio which is dead on. If you can get one of those that is a plus, otherwise you will be listening to play by play that is almost a play behind.

I've been hanging around the D42 area. Where is E43 in relation to that, is it closer to the stadium in the same lot? Or is it across that street? D42 is just in front of the RV lot.

Looks like you need to walk down Redskin Rd towards the stadium and it's on your left. Just walk along the woods edge once you get to the parking lots on the left side of Redskin Rd.
