Thread: Clinton Portis: A Leader

    Default Clinton Portis: A Leader

I know you are going to think this thread is about CP's 2nd straight game over 100 yards and how he played so well. Well, it kind of is ( ) but I wanted to add something else.

In the 4th quarter Ladell Betts started to run onto the field to replace CP. CP saw this and waved him off as if to say "I'm the leader, let me take care of this." Well, the next play CP caught a screen pass and converted for a 1st down.

CP is just that kind of guy that believes he can get it done and then goes out onto the field and does it. This is just something I saw while at the game that I didn't know if anyone else saw.

It was a terrible loss today and I'm mad but CP is the man.

“Hey, about an hour ago, all right, their [defensive] coordinator [Juan Castillo] told us, told [offensive line coach Chris] Foerster, that [if] the Giants would have lost last week, they were in the playoffs,” Kyle Shanahan said. “He didn’t mention that they had to beat us today. **** him, **** these guys. In 2012 the Redskins are gonna be the NFC East champions, and that starts right ****ing today.”

I sure hope he is since he is the only damn weapon we have. In JG's eyes anyway!

yup. I'm glad Portis is back on track. 2 straight 135+ yard games. He's doing great!

Portis proved to be the MVP of the team in 2005, being one of the main reasons we went to the playoffs. And despite 2-3 injuries last year, he still had 4.1 ypc and 7 TDs in what amounted to about 7 games.

Still, fans doubted him. Guess what? CP is now 3rd in the NFL in rushing. On pace for almost 1700 yds from scrimmage and 11 TDs.

CP is back to his old self and our passing game came out of its shell today, missing Carlos and ST from the secondary is tough against a QB like McNabb plus MW was out too. The dumb defensive penalties didn't help either.

I'm very happy with today's offense and we know what our defense can do when healthy.

We aren't deep playoff caliber yet, but if our offense learns lessons from today (that opening it up for JC is good) and our D gets healthy and we get good depth out of the draft, we could be Super Bowl caliber next year

If it wasnt for Portis leading the rushing attack last week against the Jets, the passing game this week would have never opened up. Portis is one of the best backs in the league (when fully healthy) and is the offensive leader of this team.

If the coaches didn't call completely idiotic plays at the end (maybe put some wideouts on the field? Just maybe?? Draw on 3rd and 7?????), he might have found the endzone.

you know, with Takeo Spikes emphasizing that they had to stop the run...

...either they didnt do a good job, or CP was a beast

as good as Portis is, he'd be even better if our play calling wasn't so obvious and predictable.
