I won low amateur round with a 75 on Saturday, even 1 stroke better than the Pro I was teamed with that day.
We lost the overall team event by one stroke in a stunning way.
The 7th hole is a 200 yd par 3. The tournament is playing closest to the pins for all par threes everyday for amateurs. Closest gets 100 in the clubhouse. I knock it stiff. About 2 feet away. So I figure Id win at least that.
Well, the team that beat us had an amateur who aced it! And they beat us by 1 stroke.
The guy, who I know, was laughing about how he was lucky to get one when it was an open bar, hence not having to buy a round. Until his father in law pointed out that the party ended at 6 and the bar 2 miles down the road would certainly take his money there.
I drank Macallan 18 for the rest of the night on his tab.
To any golfers, if you have the chance to play one of these events, do it. It's a great time.

. I mean what a waste of real estate when you could've had a killer moto cross park.
