Default Lots of heroes in this one

One of the reasons this is a great win is that it was not only a must win, but a must win that everyone played well.

The defense got shakey there in the third, but Smoot, Landry, and Carter did their jobs.

The offense never gave up on the run and Clinton broke free and blocked like a maniac. Moss made some wonderful long receptions. Collins made the throws he had to and more importantly didn't make any mistakes. Betts gave us a surge. Cooley was Cooley which is always good.

The coaching was solid, agressive but smart.

The coverage teams.... well, you need something to get the coaches antsy.

Even the refs may have been slightly on our side today.

It's amazing the spirit and will they have shown.

Plus, I love it when we win the game rather than the other team losing it or us playing not to lose.

Refs - "on our side"? Uh - NO

Other than that, I agree with your post

I think Smoot probably had the best game of his career. Forget the lack of pickles, the dude was simply a shut-down corner tonight.

Smoot played like a stud, but we nearly pissed this game away too. It's frustrating to not be able to get that key sack or turnover to really end the game. It's also frustrating to not be able to keep drives going to run out the clock (till the last drive.)

Torrence had some plays I'm sure he'd like back. Reed nearly got called for a long PI call.

All in all, a win is a win and we actually closed out a game. So props to the team, but PLENTY to work on. If the Giants didn't drop a RIDICULOUS amount of passes, it could have been very different. We got a little lucky, but we were due.

We're not a losing team right now, which feels pretty good!

Everybody on the skins side knew what was on the line and they showed it out on the field. I'm hoping it was the wind that was effecting Todds game though. Other than that, the Skins looked TOUGH tonight!

I loved everything from the big hits to the sense of moment. I was annoyed at the legit, but silly call on Landry... especially when minutes later after a sack some guy did the same slashing thing to Collins except three times longer.

    i disagree.

Under those conditions, if you have a 2 touchdown lead, you play the clock/field position and let your defense do its job. the giants needed to score 2 touchdowns in the fourth quarter to win. wasn't going to happen.

and got to love the Sellers leap... this is the second time I've seen him hurdle a tackler. I don't know what's cooler, seeing him truck someone and run through them or leaping over them.

was there at least a similar penalty on the gnats for that one?

*i missed half of the game so i dont remember seeing that hit or LL drilling plax (only saw that in a replay)

    that was awesome.

seeing a 280lb fullback hurdle someone that high is great. first against the cowboys (over newman, i think). then last night.

No penalty. The Giant made three slashing gestures standing right over Todd. I actually thought neither really deserved a penalty, but if you're going to do one you ought to do both.
