Included in the agreement for Khan-Peterson II is the stipulation Peterson’s next fight after May 19, regardless of opponent, will take place in the District, according to Jeff Fried, Peterson’s chief negotiator from Las Vegas.
Love it. Also love this quote from Peterson:
“I just want to fight him again because it was a good fight,” Peterson said. “It’s a fight that the fans wanted, so that’s just what I’m trying to focus on right now, just giving the fans what they want, and once I beat him again, I just don’t want to hear his mouth again.”

There's no reason why this fight couldn't be on the undercard of Pac/Bradley. Instead we'll have to sit through 3 one sided miss-matches before the main event.

    Maybe not. http://espn.go.com/boxing/story/_/id...eet-rematch-19
Schaefer said he is close to finalizing the co-featured bout for the card, which would also take place in the 140-pound division: Lucas Matthysse (29-2, 27 KOs), the hard punching contender from Argentina, against former lightweight titleholder Humberto Soto (57-7-2, 34 KOs) of Mexico, who is now fighting as a junior welterweight.

Looks like Golden Boy is going to completely mail it in on the undercard of Mayweather/Cotto. De La Hoya announced last night he's going to dust off the decaying carcass of Shane Mosely to feed him to Canelo Alvarez. If that wasn't bad enough, Winky Wright is probably going to face their middleweight prospect Peter Quillin. The same Winky Wright who hasn't fought since being shutout by Paul Williams in 2009 and is closer to drawing social security than being an effective fighter.

BoxingScene.com first reported late Friday night that a full blown riot erupted in the wake of an IBF junior flyweight title bout between Filipino Johnreil Casimero (16-2, 10KOs) and hometown hero Luis "Mosquito" Lazarte (49-11-2, 18KOs). Casimero stopped Lazarte in the tenth round to capture the vacant IBF junior flyweight championship at Mar del Plata in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

As previously reported, the victory was never announced because a huge crowd of Argentine fans rushed the ring and attacked Casimero and his team, the IBF's officials, journalists and everyone else who tried to prevent the violence from getting worse. Chairs, bottles and punches were flying all over the arena, with very little intervention from the few police officers on the scene.

BoxingScene has since learned that well-known manager and international agent Sean Gibbons was beaten badly, getting cracked to the jaw, kicked in the head several times and possibly suffering broken ribs. Casimero was cracked over the head with a chair. He suffering minor injuries, as did his trainers. The crowd tried to pull Casimero out of the ring, but they were thwarted by a guard who pulled him under the ring to hide him from the crowd - and even referee Eddie Claudio was sent to the hospital to receive stitches to his mouth after catching a chair shot from the rioting crowd. Numerous other injuries were reported.

I actually like the Mosely vs. Alvarez fight

Did anyone attend the Jimmy Lange fight this weekend? It was a pretty funny fight (definitely fixed) but was fun to watch his clown opponent...great bad guy, should pursue a career in the WWE

Mosley is a corpse at this stage of his career. Have you heard him talk lately? He should not be fighting anymore. His speed is gone, and he either can't or won't pull the trigger anymore. He'll probably go the distance because Canelo isn't a special fighter, but he's going to take a beating in the process.

I was there (been to ALL the Lange Patriot Center fights; first one was during my senior year, only like $15, decided what the hell, instantly hooked); definitely one of the more INTERESTING fights I've seen
P.S. The fight before that was AWFUL; the opening fight was damn good.

I hate boxing. Campillo clearly beats Tavoris cloud, but is robbed out of a decision because Cloud has Don King in his corner.

    I really hate boxing.

Boxing is now the most corrupt sport, if it wasn't before.

    Boxing is dead.

Hard to see who got the best in that presser scuffle. I think Haye used a glass by what Chisora was saying. (?)
