I like Cowher, but I sense that "fire in the belly" will not last more than 3-4 years before Bill realizes that his CBS gig was nice compared to the rigors of being an NFL head coach.

Dan, stop screwing around, schedule the presser, and announce GW.....the guy mostly responsible for Gibbs II not being a disaster.....the job.

Plain and simple, I agree! All this mystry CRAP,PLZ! Cowher if he comes back he looking for a HUGE payday, could careless about the SKINS...FOR LONG!

Make the right descision for only the second time since owning the dawm team. Hire the man that has earned the shot as out next HC, GW!

If that's true, both Mora and Snyder are a lot dumber than I thought.

I think personally if J.B. Does know why would he tell glazer anyway 2 reasons why he wont.

    1. So his team can break the story first J.B. Is no longer with fox so why would he share that info with fox.

    2. Cowher wasnt intending to do interviews in mass with other teams so J.B as a friend is not putting his news on the street like that. for all anyone else knows cowher could have the job and just didnt want the news to spoil the championship games being played or imply any one upmanship which is pretty classy. i think the J.B. comment couldve been a slip or a nod to cower leaving.

thats my on the whole matter.

Sorry Pete when Synder hires this next coach he will then have an average of 2.25 years per HC he has hired. That is just pathetic.

Synder has failed in getting coaches. Gibbs was a no brainer, all the other coaches have failed. Which is why we need someone who knows the NFL coaching ranks to hire the coach not Synder. If Synder cares to much what the fans think then why aren't we hiring the next coach. It doesn't matter who the fans want it matters who he wants, the problem though he may not know.

The Ravens and Dolphins did not wait too long, and that is because the owner was not picking the HC. The reason they wanted to give the job to Mora is because of the relationship with Vinny back in SF.

If it is GW..then there is no harm in waiting to announce. Work for the senior bowl and combine is already in progress. If it is a new guy then Snyder better get his ass in gear. I think its GW...This team has got stability and it is starting to pay off.

Remember it Took Cowher 15years to win a SB. He wouldnt last 5 here under any circumstances.

How long did it take him to get to his first SB

Remember the problem Cowher had was he lost his players every year because they wouldn't pay them. I don't think he has that issue here. Plus he would be the best coach in the NFC

    MYSTERY CANDIDATE IN D.C.?

On Friday, we caught wind of rumors that there's a mystery candidate for the head-coaching vacancy in Atlanta. Now, Jay Glazer of FOX reports that a mystery candidate has emerged in Washington.

In our view, the term "mystery candidate" is usually code for a college head coach who's hoping not to disrupt his recruiting effort if he doesn't get the job. But after the team's experiences with Steve Spurrier, it's hard to think that owner Dan Snyder would want to give another college coach a try.

Glazer says that the Redskins' mystery candidate will be interviewed on Monday or Tuesday.

Also, Glazer reports that Seahawks assistant Jim Mora would have gotten the job if he had wanted it. Some have speculated that Mora withdrew his name from consideration after he learned that he wouldn't get the gig.

The Redskin One thread is saying Fassel is the mystery person. He lives in Arizona, he is a very bright guy, and he was in GB yesterday where Danny was

    Very, very, interesting

I hope not. I don't want Fassel. Anyone but Fassel
