Thumbs Up Osi calls Pats LT Matt Light a dirty player

    Let the games begin!

This isn't going to help the Giants.

Osi Umenyiora Calls Pats LT Matt Light "Dirty" Player?
One might say Osi Umenyiora has lit the match. The Giants defensive end officially has kicked off the Super Bowl war of words. Last night on HBO's "Inside the NFL," Umenyiora had some less than flattering words to say about Matt Light, implying the Patriots left tackle and Tom Brady's chief bodyguard is a dirty player. Umenyiora called Light out for "doing a couple of things that you know he shouldn't have been" when the teams met in the regular-season finale on Dec. 29.

i cant tell if the pats players are actually dirty, or if other players are just pissed off at how good they are. every week theres a new "dirty" player.

So you can't make up your mind that Vince Wilfork sticking his finger in Jacobs' eye is dirty or not? Or Rodney Harrison's repeated antics? Are you serious?

Certainly not every Patriot player is dirty, but is it shocking to hear the claim made? You think a coach who tapes another team's signals is above encouraging some questionable ethics from his players?

Osi's probably just upset b/c ever since he took a backup tackle to school for half his sack total on the year, he hasn't been the same force. Boo-hoo.

I heard OSI likes it "dirty" himself.
I’ll tell it to the hot, tell it to the cold, tell it to the young and tell it to the old. I don’t want no laughin', I don’t want no cryin', and most of all, no signifyin'.

Umenyiora - “doing a couple of things that you know he shouldn’t have been”
I'm sorry I must be confused. This is what they are accusing Osi of saying??

They must be in dire need of stories.

Didn't Harrison call the Giants a dirty team last week? Is this in responce to that somehow?

    OSI STIRS THINGS UP

Though the greatest . . . team . . . ever hardly needs a fresh supply of motivation as it prepares to face its next foe, the New England Patriots have benefited from a constant stream of smack from their opponents.

This time around, defensive end Osi Umenyiora is the first member of the Giants to poke a stick into the hive, calling out left tackle Matt Light for alleged dirty tactics in the Week Seventeen meeting between the two teams.

Umenyiora made his remarks on this week's Inside the NFL on HBO, via the Providence Journal.

"It was a war out there," he said, "and to be honest with you, I'm not quite sure that he thought he was going to see me again because of some of the things he did and said during that game. But, you know, unfortunately he does have to see me again."

Host Bob Costas asked Osi for more details.

"He was doing a couple of things that, you know, he shouldn't have been," Umenyiora said.

    "Like what?" Costas said.

"Hitting after the [play] and trying to -- I don't know if he was trying to intimidate me, I don't know what he was trying to do -- but he did a couple of things that he shouldn't have done, and, you know, now we are really going to go at it this time."

Umenyiora separately said this week, "We know we can beat that football team."

"We honestly feel we should have won that football game we played [last month]," he said. "The Patriots are an exceptional football team, no question. We had them on the ropes. We're gonna go into this game thinking we can beat them."

Folks, the game is still ten days away. If the Giants don't tone it down, and if more than a few folks in the media openly pick the Giants to win the game, this one could end up being an old-fashioned Niners-Broncos beat-down.

Sounds like Costas put him to task and folded after smack talking.

Osi keeps it up and his teammates will be cheapshotting him to shut him up.

It's a good thing Rodney harrison has already called the Giants the dirtiest team in the league just a few short weeks ago. I bet he thought he wouldn' see the Giants again this year.

Now the big bad Giants have all the motivation they'll ever need. Jacobs might go head hunting.

All pregame talk motivates the Patriots to be even better. When you talk trash, they play the disrespected card. When you talk them up, they put the biggest whooping of the year on you. That's what happened to our skins. Gibbs called them the greatest, and they showed him how right he was.

So the best advice is to not say anything. No one has tried that approach yet.
