Don't worry, I would have taken Willis ahead of your anyway, so it's my loss no yours

Funny story (well, not funny for me), but in my keeper draft last year, I had Willis, and I put him on waivers for a couple days to pick up Brandon Marshall (I think). The plan was to drop one of my other IDP players in a couple days and pick him back up. The day I go to pick Willis up, and a guy had already picked him up a few minutes before me. Of course, he goes on and becomes the league leader in tackles. Mother father that sucked.

    Trade announced folks:

Chuong9 is getting my 8th rounder.

I'm getting his first 9th rounder, and his 2nd and 3rd round rookie picks.

since we're done with the IDP discussion and before they start to flow like the tide across the marshes of the Cheapeake, here's a life according to Stosh look at the draft so far. Yes, I know technically, it's not a third of the way done but it's also not after the NFL draft yet and we're already drafting,,,,,, so in keeping w/the impatience theme.........here we go

relatively honest assessment of my draft so far:

eh, so-so, don't love or hate any part of my squad. I'm waaaay younger than I expected and that wasn't by design or intent. Missed the run on "name" qbs but I did get the last qb I was interested in so that's ok. Had Ben pencilled in but was on the wrong side of the draft for him.

Obviously, missed the TE run and don't see a lot of value out there w/what's left. Eh, if I'm going to miss a run, at least it's @TE.

    my toughest picks:
    Colston/Fitz
    Norwood/Fargas
at least the players I didn't pick went right after, so I'm not too far out in la-la land w/my slotting.

    who snaked me:
Nobody got me too bad. I usually have a couple of players in the mix to pick so I don't get my heart set on any one player.
Reggie Wayne, maybe. I would have preferred him over MC but I didn't think he would make it to me. Same w/CJ.
Vernon Davis, eh, maybe. Don't know that I would have pulled the trigger on a TE there but he would have been considered.
The Dwayne Bowe pick got me. I was handcuffed w/the Cutler pick there and would have had to take him anyway, but thought Bowe may fall back into the 6th. That's still a damn good pick and I probably mis-slotted him worse than any other player.

my analysis (fwiw) of the rest of the draft,,,,or here's where I try to piss everybody off in February.

    best RBs: Nut and Kur
    worst RBs: Chuong, B&G, Phoward
    best WRs: B&G, Chuong
    most potential at WRs: Phoward
worst WRs: Armchair, King, Kur and Drop
    best "value" picks:
Willie Parker and Ronnie Brown in mid-2nd
Chad Johnson in the 4th. good God. I wanted to trade up to get him when I saw that he was available but I suck at making trades and Nut got him.

    most "interesting" picks:
    Rudi in the 3rd
the qbs in the 1st. I know somebody has to do it and if I was on the back side of the draft I'd be tempted as well. Interested to hear from the owners if they'd still make that pick now based on how it's affected the makeup of their team.
    Moss in the 1st
    Garrard in the 7th

anyway, on to the next third of the draft. Should get really interesting here as different strategies get played out. It's after all the "names" are gone is where the contenders are made.........

thanks MCM @NFLFever2 for the sig
