C'mon TDR....you have to get Armchair's first rd rookie pick now. You'll have the first 6 picks in the draft. Get your people on that trade...

...so I guess now is not the time to bring up a "physically unable to perform" (a.k.a. - PUP List) for guys like Priest Holmes/Curtis Martin who remain on the roster because they might come back to play one day?

the only thing that might get complicated is if one team signs a PS player from two or three other teams, (highly unlikely given what you would have to give up, but it could happen) and the players end up on the same tier. how does the team give up two 2nd round picks if the players both perform in the 75-150 point range?

oh, and if we do do a floating PS spot thing where if you call a player up you lose that spot, then if someone else signs your player, it should be different. if i have a player on PS and someone else signs him, i shouldnt lose the spot, i should be able to go sign someone from waivers to fill the spot. only if you call someone up from your own team should you lose the spot.

*thats if we go with TDRs method. i still prefer mine where you can call up and replace PS spots on your own team during the season if someone on your team is eligible for the PS. you have the full 5 spots all season no matter what.
Okay, so let's say a team signs two players from practice squads, and those two players wind up being on the same tier. Then he gives up his regular draft pick for one of the players. For the second player that he signed that falls within the same tier, then the team from which the player was signed gets a compensatory pick at the end of the round that agrees with the scale. Also, the team that signed the player loses a pick from the scale in the year after's draft.

So, as an example, let's say Team A signs a player from Team B and Team C for the 2008 season. If the player from Team B and the player from Team C both have seasons that, on the scale, show that Team B and Team C should be compensated a 2nd round draft pick, we do it as follows: let's say the player from Team B has more points than the player from Team C, then Team B will get Team A's regular second round pick. Team C will get a compensatory pick at the end of the 2nd round. These are all changes that will happen to the draft after the end of the 2008 season. However, he will also lose a 2nd round draft pick in the draft after the 2009 season. That pick won't go to anyone in particular, since Team B and Team C were already compensated, but instead, it will just be skipped over, so that Team A is still penalized.

And yeah, if we're only doing the PS for rookies and sophomores, then I don't think we should have floating PS spots...I only put that in there so that the PS spots aren't like regular spots, but if its only for rookies and sophomores, then it doesn't matter.

Poor guy...don't worry Pho, I have a bunch of time today, so I'll compile all the information me and Kur have been talking about into one, long, easy-to-read compilation, and then submit it to the league for approval .

well that sucks. when i made my trade with you. i was contemplating turning around and giving the 3 picks this draft to him for his second. so i end up moving up 3 spots as well as getting your pick next year. but i didnt try offering that....was going to try to 1-up you on that. haha

or instead of having to deal with that. we could just say you can only sign 1 PS player per season. then you have to use tactic as who will be the better sign. then you have no conflicts with multiple signees and giving up multiple picks.

got an idea....since basically its been just me and you coming up with this and hashing through....just email me or IM me and we can come up with the easy to read post for putting back in here that you told pho about. then we can hash stuff out easier.

That's correct. I know who I am taking, just waiting for B&G to confirm the details of the trade in this thread. I sent him a PM reminding him of this.

Once done, pick will be up within minutes. Hell, I don't even mind telling you guys now...but then if something went wrong you bastages would steal my guy...
