Yea, I did. TDR screwed me...those two bums showed up to my OTA's fat and out-of-shape. The only good part of that trade was TDR's girlfriend. So I sent Marshall and Washington packing the minute they arrived.

Here is TDR's girl at the beach by the way...better than Leon Washington at least...

Stoshie...must admit I am surprised you think I got the better end of that deal. I kinda lean towards CCFF having a slight advantage. He gets a decent QB and a WR with a lot of potential, plus a rarely used RB who happens to score decent points in this league.

I, on the other hand, get Bush who will only fit in as an insurance policy for McFadden (unless he takes over the starting spot, in which case the roles would be reversed). I also get Lee Evans who may turn out to be pretty good if TO draws the coverage to him, but all things considered is a 2nd tier WR at best.

The real part of this trade for me was Michael Turner. Lo and behold, I thought I was the only idiot willing to trade away a top 5 RB...when CCFF proposed this trade I almost fell out of my rocking chair. Some "experts" think he has a decent chance at being the #1 fantasy RB this year. I couldn't pass him up. He'll go along nicely with McFadden and Jacobs.

...and I with you Pho...don't really care how we handle FA...just figure it out so I don't have to read about it anymore. Thanks

Hmmm, interesting trade. In a vacuum, I'd say CCFF wins this trade just based on value, but looking at it closer, I like this trade more for SkinsNut. If you take Rivers out of the equation (because CCFF has Brees and Nut has Brady...all essentially interchangeable parts), the trade is Evans, Bush, and Turner for Marshall and Washington.

I'd rather have Evans, Bush, and Turner, especially if I already had Jacobs and McFadden. Nut doesn't lose too much in the way of WR, even if I do agree with CCFF that Marshall is a straight beast. Evans just needs a good QB, or, this season, another great WR to take away double teams, and he'll get similar stats to Marshall.

The norm for dynasties is a combined rookie/FA draft. We opted not to do that b/c FA is, well, FA, not waivers, not a draft, etc.

I'd much rather do the bbid than a FA draft but I'd rather do the current process than either of those options at this point.
Agreed with this point. We might as well do the auction system if we're going to have an FA draft.

you are mistaken. that is tdr after getting his chest waxed and nails done. cuz i remember that weekend. tdr was all pissy cuz his gf decided to visit me for some fun that apparently tdr didnt provide her. so he was complaining and all and i told him to go get his nails done and crap and keep a mirror next to him for company. i didnt think hed take it literally...

and i hear conflicting things on turner. your thing said he could be the #1 back. but a few weeks ago i kept hearing how they were going to incorporate norwood more into the offense to lessen the pounding on turner and keep him far enough away from the 370 carry plateau or whatever. i hate the offseason speculation.

Well, Turner had 11 career receptions going into last season. He had six? receptions last season. I really like Norwood, he's a beast. At the very least he'll be their 3rd down back and be part of passing plays.

Turner got most of his points from the 17 TD's. What are the chances he matches or comes close to that total again? I don't think it's very likely. I still think he's a top ten back this season and maybe even next year as well

I figure this is one of the better places to come looking for fantasy advice so...

As I mentioned in my "resume" for joining this league I have run my own league on Yahoo for what is now 7 years. It is a redraft league and every year we have a league kickoff meeting and do a random draw for draft position. Well this year I got 10 out of 10, the turn. It is the first time I ever remember picking at the turn in any of my leagues. So now I have to try to figure out the best strategy to employ.

It is a PPR league with 1 point per Rec. and a half point per completion. 25 yards passing, 10 yards rushing, 20 yards receiving per point. All TD's count for 6.

I fully expect the first 7 picks to play out as follows: Peterson, Turner, Forte, Westbrook, MJD, Chris Johnson, DeAngelo Williams. The bad part is picks 8 and 9, I have no idea what they may be thinking and they are 2 of the more competitive owners in the league. If I have the opportunity, dare I go WR-WR and take both Fitzgerald and Andre Johnson? Or go best RB available + WR? What about a QB-WR tandem like Brady and Moss? I really hate sacrificing my RBs though by pushing it off until the 3rd round.

    Any thoughts?

I'm not sure how valuable this league is to you, but I wanted to try a WR-WR approach in the first two rounds in one of the leagues I'm in this year that I don't really care for, especially if I had a late draft position. You can still get decent value in the 3rd and 4th rounds for RBs (Darren McFadden, Derrick Ward, and Brandon Jacobs come to mind).

Well it's a league comprised of all friends but it's probably the most competitive league that I'm in (until joining the ES Dynasty Lg )

We don't have any cash prize or anything but at the end of the season we hold a "banquet" for the winner and their name gets added to a league trophy that gets passed on from winner to winner each year.

Its all bragging rights but I want that damn trophy back! (I had it in 07 and the same guy that won in 06 also won again in 08)

I've done 2 mocks so far from the 10 spot. One I went Chris Johnson and Andre Johnson. I then got Pierre Thomas and Marques Colston in RDs 3-4. In the second I went RB-RB and got Chris Johnson and Steve Slaton and followed up with T.O. and Aaron Rodgers in RDs 3-4. My WR suffered in that one as I later added Ochocinco and Donald Driver as my other starters.

Its just hard to get a good read from those mocks though because they aren't PPR based and no way will the picks play out in my league like they do on there. Like I said, C. Johnson won't last past pick 6 in my league yet he was there in both of the mocks for me.

Personally, I would never go WR-WR with my first two picks.

RB's touch the ball more often and more consistently on a per-game basis. While I love having a stud WR like Andre Johnson, the fluctuations from week-to-week drive me crazy. One week the stud WR has 13 receptions for 187 yds and 2 TD's...the next week he has 2 catches for 11 yds and 0 TD's.

    I'd go RB-WR.

trizz, where are you doing your mocks? if you're doing them at Yahoo, that's the same bunch of boogereaters that make Yahoo public leagues absolutely worthless.

    try mocking at fantasyfootballcalculator.com.

I'm thinking Jacobs is going to move up as the offseason progresses so I doubt that you'll have a shot at him in the 3rd. One thing you have going for you if you decide to go the WR/WR route is that it's a 10 team league.

This yr's drafts are going to be much less predictable than in yrs past so I don't think it's going to behoove you to try and go in w/a preset plan.
