I certainly do not have a problem with the recent trades, but I pose a question as a result of one of them...

Didn't we stop the practice of trading draft picks in years beyond the very next season? So in the Drop/Charm City trade the 2010 draft pick is okay, but the 2011 is too far out?

Is my old mind playing tricks on me? I could have sworn we came to that conclusion...or did we find a work-around that I was unaware of???

The reason why I brought this issue up about putting PS players on our IR on FF is that I thought you said it was illegal during the offseason. PS players during the regular season (who were on the IR on FF) were supposed to be moved to the active roster once the off season started. Before FA opened, we were putting players to be dropped on the IR, as you directed in the post below.

no, the PS has always been open year round. its just that during the offseason no one can make a claim on a PS player. its the guys on the IR (the real IR, not the IR in FF) that were moved to the active roster once the offseason started.

and the second post about moving guys you were planning on dropping to the IR...i explained later. there was talk from the FF admins about being able to have a separate IR AND PS within FF. and i was thinking about that, as well as expanding the FF IR to 8 slots to have both IR and PS within FF. thats what i was talking about. but i had meant the real IR and moving player there within FF that were planning on being dropped, just werent able to since add/drops were locked. then i remembered that programming never got added so there was no real IR in FF to move players to. it was just the IR/PS.

cory sheets is on his roster in the thread cuz i told him to. sheets wasnt on the FF player pool yet since apparently all players havent been added or something. so i told him to put sheets on his post and if/when he showed up in FF he could add him there. but he had to keep an open roster spot in FF as a placeholder.

drop was a witness to that. but he never actually responded. so whatever. that slacker.

it was the current and following year picks.

so 2010 picks are the current years picks since the 09 draft is over. so 10 and 11 picks are open for trade now. 2012 picks are NOT.

yeah, yeah. its no big deal. i believe my confusion in the matter was a result of the very clear prohibition of something, without a very clear revoking of said prohibition. i understand that you are trying to explain why and how you made the mistake, but to me, it doesnt matter. just tell me what i can and can't do and then we can talk about the specifics if there is an issue. im really not trying to be a dick about this. i would just appreciate better communication, because as opposed to some other people in the league, i do read the rules and listen to what you say. (a part of me just died when i said that)

this is just something to think about going forward, so thanks in advance for the consideration.

And the Kory Sheets thing. I was just busting Saleem's balls. I knew what was going on but I think there should have been a league wide post saying Kory Sheets was off limits.

I understand that the rules state the we have to sign our draft picks by the start of the preaseason. can we have a discussion about this because i think it might make more sense to add them after the preseason, but before the regular season. Or, maybe after the third preseason game.

I say this because I think the preseason would be more interesting if there were still position battles that we had to watch, before we could set our final rosters.

I do not know if this change could come into effect this season. I do not think it is a major change, but I think some people have already started signing their draft picks, so they may not like this change.
