yeah, yeah. its no big deal. i believe my confusion in the matter was a result of the very clear prohibition of something, without a very clear revoking of said prohibition. i understand that you are trying to explain why and how you made the mistake, but to me, it doesnt matter. just tell me what i can and can't do and then we can talk about the specifics if there is an issue. im really not trying to be a dick about this. i would just appreciate better communication, because as opposed to some other people in the league, i do read the rules and listen to what you say. (a part of me just died when i said that)

this is just something to think about going forward, so thanks in advance for the consideration.

and it wasnt a 'very clear revoking of said prohibition.' if you read the rules like you said, youd know that anyone can be added to IR and subsequently dropped. so telling drop he could move a guy to IR he was planning to drop anyway until the drop feature was unlocked isnt a 'clear revoking'. its an alternate route to something thats already allowed.

but really, do you not have anything better to do than to complain about everything in the league? every day its something new. first the frenzy itself, then FA opening, now complaining about something being clarified, then about league communication. never had these sort of problems til you showed up...just saying. i mean is there nothing in this league thats good enough for you or up to your supposedly high standards?

And the Kory Sheets thing. I was just busting Saleem's balls. I knew what was going on but I think there should have been a league wide post saying Kory Sheets was off limits.

if you hadnt darted off so fast, then you would have been there to know about it and wouldnt need some league wide post. didnt see you sending out a league wide post talking about the guys you signed.

I understand that the rules state the we have to sign our draft picks by the start of the preaseason. can we have a discussion about this because i think it might make more sense to add them after the preseason, but before the regular season. Or, maybe after the third preseason game.

I say this because I think the preseason would be more interesting if there were still position battles that we had to watch, before we could set our final rosters.

I do not know if this change could come into effect this season. I do not think it is a major change, but I think some people have already started signing their draft picks, so they may not like this change.

its the start of the preseason because thats when the first cuts are. its that simple.
1st cuts are the day before preseason and final cuts are the day before the regular season. putting in a week 3 cuts would be a pain in the ass because it would mean changing how many players need to be cut in the two existing rounds of cuts. the settings already have to be edited manually every time there are cuts and i really dont want to see any more of it.

but if you want a better reason. its cuz we are trying to be like the NFL. one of your reasons for the bbid system was cuz you thought it would make FA more like the league than the frenzy was. ok. rookies cant participate in training camps if they arent signed. look at preseason games as fantasy training camp. gotta have the rookies on the roster for that. cuz leaving them where they are is in a limbo of sorts. they arent signed, but they arent FAs. you just own the rights to them. or is it just a 'hey, lets be like the league in this instance, but not in this since it will make it more fun for me'. its called the No Fun League for a reason.

Let's rewind, here. On this issue of putting players on the FF IR, I brought that up in conjunction with your post about changing the regular season roster size to 30. I brought up the point that we should have 35 spots for the offseason to include the PS. You guys agreed with me. Actually, you all were already doing it. I missed out on a couple of players as a result of stopping to fill my rosters earlier than you all. No big deal tho. Honestly. After I got clarification on this, I filled my roster. You busted my balls about always wanting to make things complicated, so I explained the my source of confusion was in your communication. When you come out and say, "if anyone is on your IR one hour after FA opens, they will be cut, or heads will roll," Im going to remember that. I appreciate very clear communication like that. Seriously. If that was a mistake, I think you should go above and beyond to make sure no one woud be confused by said mistake. My issue with your communication is not a big deal, because honestly I don't really expect you to hear me. I say it because I have to get it off my chest. That is whats a big deal to me. If you weren't so defensive about your rules and the mistakes you make I think we could have a better dialogue. I feel like I have to point out how you're making this out to be all my fault of not understanding your communication, when you're the one that made the mistake in the first place. When someone else makes a mistake, (and I've made plenty) they're a moron. When you make a mistake, you have some long excuse of how it happened and its not really your fault. And that's real talk.

I do have high standards. I think this is a great league, and I really enjoy it. I don't think you need to be so defensive about your rules. How could a league be perfect after one year in creation? And im not calling for votes anymore. Im just tossing ideas around. I am noticing how people aren't paying attention anymore. That's fine. I don't expect people to run to their computers and fawn over everything I say. I do believe, however, that these discussions make the league better.

I've said it all along. I am an active, dedicated fantasy football player. My job is stressful and I enjoy this release.

Maybe Im mistaken, but our final cuts are their first cuts. I think our final cuts should be theirs as well.

And again, I did make the mistake of saying the BBid system is more like the NFL. I believe that, but the argument is so weak that I shouldnt have. Nothing will be like the NFL, exactly. We can only try to emulate "the spirit" of the rules. At the end of the day, tho, we are not responsible to the NFL, we are responsible to the game of fantasy football. The rules we put it are supposed to make the game more interesting and fun. To support the spirit of fantasy football, not pay homage to the league's rules.

ugh. was kinda kranky when I wrote that last post. Had just woke up from working late. Alot of that energy wasn't really for you, Kur, so my bad.

Something to clear this roster cut stuff up, please read:

We just changed the roster size for the regular season from 24 to 30, but didnt change the offseason active roster size to 40 so it remains 30. It makes complete sense to change that next year, I'm with you on that.

Currently updated rules:

=In-season rosters consist of thirty-eight (38) slots: thirty (30) slots for active players, five (5) slots for the practice squad, and three (3) slots for the injured reserve.
=Off-season rosters consist of forty-eight (48) slots: forty (40) slots for active players, five (5) slots for the practice squad, and three (3) slots for the injured reserve.
=There will be two series of roster cuts prior to the start of the regular season. Owners must cut their rosters to thirty-five (35) players by the day before the opening kick-off of NFL preseason. Owners must cut their rosters to thirty (30) players by the day before opening kick-off of the NFL regular season.

But, because we only have 35 spots on FF, and we are not cutting that size down any further, signing our rookies is the only cut we have to make before the regular season. Everyone is looking at their regular season rosters except for them.

Therefore,

Im suggesting that we delay the signing of rookies to offset not having a full off season roster of 40 active players. (we only have 30)

if for no other reason, it makes the preseason more interesting.

edit- I've noticed more and more people are adding their draft picks, so I understand if they're not interested in this change, but its not like the rookies can't be dropped for now. Thought it was worth talking about, tho.

is anyone else getting a little worried about our O-line with all the negative reports from the first few days of camp??

I keep hoping to come home and read that they clicked or at least looked solid for the first time in camp..... i know its early and they have to learn each other and work together and all.... but I would be lying if I wasnt worried a little.... especially with all of the good reports about the Defense and Kelly and Thomas.... all the pieces seem to be falling into place if the O-line can mesh
