Yes, and i'd like to add that i think the IR should be extended to players with ANY type of injury.
Now, not someone who's listed on an injury report, but is still going to play. I'm talking about someone who has something like a small strain, and might only miss a week or two.
But IF we go that route, then we're going to have to define exactly when a player has to come off of the IR. I guess we could do something like, within "X" amount of days after it is formally announced that said player is going to play, he must be removed from the IR.
I feel like i'm getting ahead of myself though, so i'll just stop now.![]()
So will Pho's team even be competetive the rest of the way now without Bowe and V-Jack? Or do we have an official league whipping boy for the rest of this season??
I realized a few weeks ago that my team wasn't really built to compete, at least not in a long term way. So I'm building for the future. I may take my lumps in the short term, but with my superior drafting skill, you'll all be crying in a few years. And I say that knowing full well that one of the receivers I traded for its hurt. I'm forming a nice solid base of youth here.
28, I can't see FleaFlicker at work unless I sneak upstairs to the library in my office. You'll have to PM me the details for negotiation purposes unless you want to wait for an answer.

For the sake of keeping things simple, I would think we would want to include only those players who are truly on IR. It would seem that it would be much more complicated to track if we start saying "x" amount of days, blah, blah.
Personally, I think we have enough roster spots available that we really should limit the use of IR.
...just figured I'd throw that out there now because my old brain will not remember to point this out when we resurrect this discussion in a few months.
i know what ya mean. I began doing the same thing through my offseason trades and this previous draft. I wanted to get younger and build for the future, while managing to stay competetive this year.
I wasn't ready to blow things up after a 6 - 8 season. I knew it was time to get rid of guys like Willie Parker, Randle-El, and Laveraneus Coles and replace them with younger guys like MJD, Anthony Gonzalez, and Sims-Walker. I knew that Mason and Moss were serviceable, but certainly weren't getting any younger. So i went out and drafted Maclin and Massaquoi, and traded for some other young talent. Roethlisberger has stepped up this year but i needed depth at QB so i drafted Stafford, and just last week traded for Chad Henne after he had a really nice game against a defense that had been tough as nails up until that game.
I worked hard to build a young, competetive core and i think i've got it in Roethlisberger, Ray Rice, MJD, and my array of WR's out of which 1 or 2 are bound to go on to have very successful careers. Good luck with your project. This is the kind of **** that makes me love this league so much more than typical one and dones.
lol, i hear ya. i'm just throwing it out there. the interest to put shorter term injuries on the IR might be there.

Interesting trade...not sure I trust Benson yet...I haven't forgotten the first few years of his career. Very interesting trade.
Oh, and Twenty-Eight, you must be joking. I'll come up with a counteoffer.
Actually, on 2nd thought, a counteroffer may not be coming. You've already blown through your main draft picks for the next two years, and our teams don't really match up well, at least, as far as people I'm interested in. I'm afraid I might have to ask you for too many pieces to make it worth your while.
TDR, what are you thinking?
Picks AND Donald Brown? Do you really trust Benson that much in Cincy?? Addai is getting pushed to the side more and more by the game.
I think GO just hoodwinked your ass bro.
I think its pretty fair... Benson is having a great year and while he has been in the league a while, he hasnt had a ton of carries the last few years...
Brown is unproven and you never know what you will get in the draft... Benson improves his team big time for this season if nothing else...
I may have slightly overpaid, but at the very least Addai will force a committee, and Peyton is getting somewhat old. Also, the Colt's O-line is terrible for run blocking. Also, Benson is only 26 with not a lot of carries in his career on a team that likes to run. And Im built to win now (despite the record), so I thought I'd go for proven talent at this point.

I've seen this a few times, so I'm just throwing this out there as food for thought...no harm intended to anyone...
...but should we really be airing out comments about trade talks in the midst of negotiations in such a public manner? In the example above twenty-eight may be working a couple of different angles/also involved in trade talks with other teams, and this could be "exposing" him (granted, this exposure of 28 is not as graphic as the nekkid photos of him which were posted a few pages back by Drop).
It would seem to me we would be better off handling via PM while negotiations continue, and then blasting him in public once there is no more communications??? Maybe I'm over-reacting a bit...like I said...no harm intended...just tossing it out there for thought.
