But IF we go that route, then we're going to have to define exactly when a player has to come off of the IR. I guess we could do something like, within "X" amount of days after it is formally announced that said player is going to play, he must be removed from the IR.

I feel like i'm getting ahead of myself though, so i'll just stop now.
it can be set up to only let guys listed as probable, doubtful, etc, all the way up the scale, but then its according to if FF actually lists them as such.

but limiting it like that within FF would screw up having the PS, unless they actually implement a PS or taxi squad (as other people were calling it)

if they dont, we would have to go on the honor system that people only put eligible people on the IR. but again, thats offseason stuff.

Personally, I think we have enough roster spots available that we really should limit the use of IR.

...just figured I'd throw that out there now because my old brain will not remember to point this out when we resurrect this discussion in a few months.
shocker of all shockers. im gonna agree with CCFF again...

out of the 3 IR slots, he said that 2 should be for people on the IR (but i would expand that to the PUP list as well) and the 3rd could be for whatever. if you have a guy out of the league like marvin or when vick was in jail. or if you have a guy thats hurt a few weeks but you know he will wont make a contribution for the season. stuff like that. but 2/3 slots should be for guys on PUP or IR. something along those lines.

Oh, and Twenty-Eight, you must be joking. I'll come up with a counteoffer.
wow. not sure what to say about that trade. i definitely dont trust benson enough to give up a 1st, 2nd, and brown. in a year brown will be putting up bensons #s or better.

Didn't Benson get around 350 carries last season? I know he was on pace for like 450 carries a few weeks ago. He's been a workhorse for the Bengals. ...I don't know abuot the trade.... I LOVE Donald Brown

I'm afraid I might have to ask you for too many pieces to make it worth your while.

...but should we really be airing out comments about trade talks in the midst of negotiations in such a public manner? In the example above twenty-eight may be working a couple of different angles/also involved in trade talks with other teams, and this could be "exposing" him (granted, this exposure of 28 is not as graphic as the nekkid photos of him which were posted a few pages back by Drop).

It would seem to me we would be better off handling via PM while negotiations continue, and then blasting him in public once there is no more communications??? Maybe I'm over-reacting a bit...like I said...no harm intended...just tossing it out there for thought.
You know, usually it might have been a big deal but...it was just a quick proposal i threw it out there. We didn't go back and forth in negotiations. Pho also didn't go into any details about the offer...except of course my draft pick situation which everybody knows about. Now, if we had gone back and forth with proposals and dicussed various trades at length and then Pho (or someone) aired all that , I would be upset. But in this case- no harm; no foul

I guess it boils down to the fact that I don't trust Brown to get consistent carries in that offense. Right now, that is not an RBBC, it's Addai as the #1, and Brown as the back-up. I'd rather have a guy who gets consistent carries and is still young in a pretty good offense.

I agree for the most part. Many think that addai looks better and that it;s his this season....

ill wait for the offseason to discuss this but I figured I should clear up why I said that, Kur.

People are on record saying that healthy players should not be on IR. Since the max number of healthy players on everyone's IR at that time was 2, I proposed we install a cap of 2 players.

When we discuss this in the offseason I will vote for not allowing healthy players, but I am interested in FF's injury system.

I like the trades, guys. You can definetely see people making trades with short and long term interests which is cool considering there is no cash reward for winning.

Guys, I got to say I love trading for studs and almost-studs and just collecting them on my roster. I totally understand why Snyder does what he does...draft picks just aren't that fun.

And the funny thing is, I get the same results as he does, record-wise.

    Guys,

Wanted to make sure I do this properly...I have a guy on my IR (Posluszny) who came back this season from a broken arm. One of the people I traded for (Laurent Robinson) is legitimately on IR this year.

To do this correctly, I need to drop Posluszny entirely to get him off the IR, then put Robinson on, then re-add Posluszny in a few days if no one else does, right?

Just want to make sure that I'm in compliance with the rules.

I think you got it Pho, although, I think we decided the waiting period to add a guy back after being on your own IR is 2 weeks.
