Pho, i think we agreed that all three last place teams would be subject to a name change by the champ. I finished last in my division and i'm fine with it.
My expectations:
1- check your lineup on Sunday morning
2- read every post in the thread
3- participate in league matters
4- play to win the game
If expectations are not met, we can never prove it was intentional. So, instead of penalize, lets incentivize. To encourage late season participation, I propose we make the last 4 games of the regular season like a mini tourney. We can call it the Trash Time Series or TTS playing off the BCS. The record over those 4 games will determined by us and ordered with the worst teams being subject to team name changes, and public acts of humiliation (like posting in the tailgate a thread dedicated to the ass kissing of other people who did well during the TTS). This rule change wouldnt be effective till next year, so the current rules regarding name changes would still apply for this year (can we coordinate our hate, fellas? holler at me). I like this change because it simply taking an existing rule and shortening the game selection to the end of the season when we need incentives.
The earlier we set a date to get together the more likely it is to happen. I'd rather not put off rules discussion until then, so we can have something to talk about now, leaving more time to talk about TDR's mom when we get together. Drafting then would be awesome but if we cant get everyone to come or at least be available by phone or internet, it wont work, which is no worry as TDR's mom should be reason enough for all of us to get together.
edit: Thanks for reminding me about the Sig, can someone let me know how I can get in touch with Soup? Maybe he can also make some Sigs to the TTS that we can just pass around from year to year to those who earn them. I think the only person who had a problem with changing their Sig was Kur but Im not sure he wants to be in the league anymore or that he will read this post.

If I can be allowed to change my mind at some point later, Id like to go ahead and submit by preliminary team name for TDR in the new "TDR's mom Division", "Dont make me watch!"
Trizzy, hit me up on what you're thinking about changing your division name to, as it may inspire something for Pho. Same for you 28 in regards to Drop's team name.

Sorry fellas, busy day at work. but I've got some thoughts that I'll expand upon later:
1. I love CCFF's idea to use the name-changing rules, etc. as part of a way to reward late-season activity, rather than trying to agree upon standards and punishments, etc. That's all way too subject to arbitrary judgement. This way, it's about keeping it fun and protecting your pride as a fantasy owner, not proving you're not a cheater/lazy ****.
Only problem with this: people have to give a **** about their team name, etc. and feel a real attachment to the league for this to work as a true incentive. Since half of the topic of all this discussion seems to be about who's committed, who's not, and what all that means...im not sure how effective it is as a reward/punishment if only some people would even care. Not sure if all that made sense.
2. I think at this point, unless someone else steps forward and admits their hearts not in it, which I don't expect or hope to happen, kur is the "big discussion" right now.
He obviously is very busy...but I'd argue that he also just doesn't give a ****. Whether those too things are connected...probably, but I'm not sure it should have any bearing on any decisions that are made.
I mean, he has no idea we've even been discussing him for weeks in here. He hasn't been on since November, at least, right? As much **** as I give CMill, and some of it is just to cause a stir, I admit, we at least know he's alive.
So...do we replace him, or hope he bows out in time to replace him, or let it be? I know he was an integral part of this league before I personally joined, but he's been a myth, a ghost, since I've been here. I personally don't think we can let it be.
"In 2012 the Redskins are gonna be the NFC East champions, and that starts right ****ing today.” --- Kyle Shanahan, 1/1/12.
I agree that you should be active enough to check this thread and see what is going on.... you dont have to post, but at least scan the last few posts to see:
1. no league issues are being voted on at that time
2. we arent talking crap about you and you need to defend yourself
3. we arent accusing you of tanking, dropping out, or not giving a crap....
Also, another point that I think is VERY important that no body has mentioned is the fact that if you do not get on ES, you more than likely cannot negotiate or even be offered trades... I have had a few times when I considered sending a proposal to Kur but I knew I wouldnt get a response....
I could have sent it through FF I guess, but I prefer to start talks on here....
There were also a few times when he should have used the waiver wire and didnt... and I mean obvious times and needs that could have been addressed.... I kinda hope that Kur comes in here and blasts us with a long post about why he has not been around etc... and talks crap to us and makes us all feel like crap for calling him out....but I wont hold my breath on that one....
Also, I am going to keep re-posting the draft order, just so we dont have to backtrack through pages of messages to find it..... I will try to keep it on every page or close to it until April, I will also update it once we have trades etc.....
As for the time table, I am cool with whatever as far as free agency... I guess trades can commence any time now....

GO, why don't you just create a thread for the 2012 draft? That way you don't have to keep re-posting and if you need to make changes you can just update the first post.

It seems like everyone pretty much agrees that:
A) weekly lineup setting is a must (checking your lineup on Sunday morning)
B) being around enough to read every post in here, and being around enough to know when rule discussions or other issues are being talked about that will require your input is a must...this honestly means no one should have to send you a pm to get your attention.
C) playing to win throughout the entire season is a must
I'd like to add something to the expectations of league members if I may. It would be nice if everyone could keep their damn pm boxes cleared since the majority of discussion and trading goes on here, and not at Flea Flicker. It's annoying as **** when you want to send someone a pm, their box is full, and they don't get back to you until the following week, thus potentially killing a trade offer or idea. Is this too much to ask gentleman?
CCFF's idea of doing something incentive-wise with that last four games of the regular season is interesting. I like that, anyone care to expand or make any other suggestions regarding that? I think it's a far better idea than penalties because that's going to end up in finger pointing and having to prove something that's difficult to prove. Conn makes a good point though, you have to care about your team for this incentive to work. It's got to mean something to you that your team is constantly getting renamed if you're consistently sucking.
Also, I've sent Kur a facebook message and asked him to come by the thread here at ES because we have discussions going on that require all member's attention.
Oh and to clarify the division and team renaming...I went back and the voting that we did that I found was that the champ got to rename the 3 last place teams, and the division winners simply got to rename their division.
Finally, what did we agree to do about voting on adding a 5th and 6th playoff team? I think we need to get these other issues ironed out first, but I believe we put that off until the season ended correct? Just wanted to bring that back up so it doesn't get over looked.

I'd like to rename my division "28 is the Dalai Lama of fantasy football & TDR's moms a whore"
hope it fits
GO you must have really believed your prediction about CMill winning the championship, cause you had him winning but its fixed now. I've also added point values according to the trade value chart or TVC that I designed for the dynasty rookie draft, based off Jimmy Johnson's famous TVC that is used for every draft pick trade in the NFL.
I made this TVC using a modified Jimmy Johnson TVC. It's different in that the value for pick 1 is 2,500 instead of 3,000. The distribution is logarithmic so all other picks are less too but it should be slightly easier to trade up into the top 3, although obviously still very costly.
Edit- I'm adding the 4th round now using a different chart and will probably just revise the whole thing using Jimmy Johnson original from scratch cause I can't find the modified one online anymore.

Actually it was decided that we would go with the end of regular season rankings this year.... so the one that I posted was correct since it was the rankings during the last week of reg season..... you worry about your point system I will keep the draft order!!
