Looking at all of the trades you made from RG3 on, you did this (cancelling things like Lloyd/13.06/etc. out that end up on both sides of the equation):
RG3, 11.11
Fred Davis, Robert Meachem, Reuben Randle
Don't like it at all for you, after all the dust settled. Even if it settled at Fred Davis and Brandon Lloyd, I wouldn't like it.
Newton and RG3 might be overkill in a 1QB league, but its good overkill, especially if moving RG3 and 11.11 for what you ended up getting--Davis, Meachem, and Randle, is the alternative.
Just my opinion, but you know how high on RG3 I am. However, its true that most 1QB leagues severely undervalue the QB position.
The rest of your roster is solid though, and I think you're more than ready to compete now if Britt and DMC are healthy. I see a QB1, RB1, two WR1's, and two TE1's (some of them dependent on health). Good stuff, I just don't like what all your trading/flipping got you from RG3. The talent/value kept diluting more and more as you continued to flip the pieces from the original RG3 deal for more things.
Sometimes it works out great, and sometimes when you look back and look at everything that transpired, you realize that what seemed like great value at the time, when the picks didn't have players attached to them, now is actually Davis, Meachem, and Randle. Not great value if you think RG3 will be a top-5 QB in fantasy like I do, even in a 1QB league. (also, RG3 in the 5th was a steal originally--just an observation. Nice pick!)

They had RG3 valued so oddly in that startup. The only real reason I grabbed rg3 was to see what kind of bite id get on him. I already had cam, so it was a bit of an experiment. I shouldnt have sold him so quickly although i definitley liked getting fred from the initial deal. I wasnt happy that lloyd was bpa the next go around. So in short, it backfired and i regret trading him. However...having welker, and hernandez already, I had to move lloyd. And im more than happy to have meachem instead. Three pats was a deathblow waiting to happen. Like I said, it was an experiment...it didnt kill me, but it wasnt what I hoped for either. Glad you took a look at it shaun, appreciate it dude.
Just realized my division name is now "Ol' Whiskey Division." I certainly appreciate that at this point. Since I probably led this division in whiskey consumption for the last three years I will enjoy winning the division that has a title related to drinking. Cheers Trizz, Fancy and Pho!
Also if you'd like to see five people riding on a single bicycle get run over by a car. Here you go.
PS. When did we agree upon free agency starting?

hey bamas, have any of you ever done an auction startup before? Shaun and I are in a 14 teamer that's about to startup, but unfortunately NO one in the league has auction experience. That's why we all wanted to do it, something completely new to everyone. Now there won't be any contracts or salary caps.....just an auction startup. We need some sort of info....or a template really for player values, and exactly what amount of auction money should we be dealing with for a startup like this?
Thanks for any insight guys.
I've done one auction league before; just a standard one in Yahoo Fantasy. I think the bar is set at $100 or $200, can't remember which. It seems like the way to go is to nominate star players and let other teams blow half their wad bidding for them. You can wind up getting fantastic depth this way, picking up players cheaply at the end when no one has any money left.
Also, it won't work as well this year due to the injury, but nothing was funnier than nominating the other Adrian Peterson and watching someone spend $60 on the former backup RB for the Bears. Don't think he's in the NFL anymore, but it was fun while it lasted.
lol, thanks for the tips Pho! My only regret about bringing it up is now Conn will see this and soak up the strategy. lol
Hey Pho, just a quick reminder...and actually this is for the entire league. But Pho i'll need you to add this stuff into the rules when you get a chance. Remember gentlemen, we officialy voted to make our Rookie Draft begin 24 hours after the completion of the real NFL draft annually. And we also voted for annually opening up FA on July 1st.
That being said....keep in mind that free agency opens July 1st. So start thinking about who you're gonna be bidding on. Also remember, we have our blind bid money to use between July 1st and the beginning of the regular season, we use waivers after the season starts.
Thanks for the quick pointers Pho. And thanks even MORE for that in-depth PM you sent me with even more pointers just for me. Really helpful.
lol, shut up ***** you can't fool me.
Hey, give some input here guys....
12 team dynasty, PPR, standard scoring the rest of the way more or less, 10 starters
My team:
QB: Cam
RB: DMac, Bradshaw
WR: Britt, Welker
TE: Aaron Hernandez
RB/WR: BJGE/Meachem/Boldin
WR/TE: Fred Davis (most likely my 2nd Flex)
Bench: Palmer, Fitzpatrick, David Wiilson, Ringer, Gannaway Reuben Randle, AJ Jenkings, Armon Binns, Lavon Brazil, Evan Rodriguez
His team: (these are HIS listed starters)
QB: Stafford
RB: Helu, Sproles
WR: Cruz, Julio
TE: Gates
RB/WR: Amendola
WR/TE: Decker
Bench: Roethlisberger, Weeden, Gore, Goodson, Taiwan Jones, Chris Rainey, Nick Toon, Vincent Brown, Andre Caldwell, DHB, Jared Cook, Julius Thomas, Marcedes Lewis
So here's the deal, I own DMC and i was trying to target Goodson/Jones for some insurance. He said he doesn't have the RB depth to deal both. I offered Ringer, Randle, and a 4th for Taiwan Jones and a 2nd. I thought that was pretty fair, he shot it down. Basically said he doesn't wanna deal future picks right now.
He countered me with Taiwan Jones and Andre Caldwell for Javon Ringer and Rueben Randle. I dunno, what do you guys think? I'd honestly rather have Rainey or Goodson over Caldwell, but i just don't think he'll do it.
Am I in good enough position to do this? I feel like it's a slight overpayment on my side of things. But i do like Taiwan Jones quite a bit, especially as the DMC owner. I'm just less than thrilled with the Caldwell side of things.

drop, my only concern is that we dont know who the backup is yet.. is it Jones or Goodson? can you get both? I have a feeling Goodson might end up being the guy that is the not only the backup but a guy to steal carries too... but thats just my gut....
i dont really like the trade much, mostly because I think you might need Randle sooner than later.. he or AJ will actually be your 3rd WR at this time....
I tried getting Goodson and Jones....but he was reluctant. I honestly don't know what else to offer when he doesn't want to deal picks without harming my team. What would you be willing to give up for Goodson and Jones?
And for the record, I like Taiwan Jones more in the longterm than Goodson. If DMC goes down, it's gonna be a timeshare between the two and i'll take the guy with more upside.
CCFF and I did our first auction league last year. We decided to do it in the league I had been doing for 13? years
I'm not very good at it. I'm emotionally attached to players and I bid way too much on them. I think I bid 1/4 of my budget on Jermiachel Finley & Gates
haha, yeah this 14 teamer should be fun once we get all the specifics down.
holy ****, some trade activity!?
