It's just confusing...i can't really see a HUGE difference in signing rookies now or later. You have 5 practice squad spots and 40 man rosters during the offseason....i don't see what it hurts for everyone to take their rookies on immediately as they draft them. You'd have to do that in any other league, but because we do our drafts here on the message board and not through flea flicker, we have that luxury.

All i'm saying is, if you don't want your rookies, don't make it a pain in my ass. If we have a problem with people signing drafted rookies, i'm putting it up to a vote for a rule change. Because again, this rule is a "luxury" of sorts....this isn't typical amongst most fantasy football leagues.

and i can almost GUARENTEE, SOMEONE will claim a rookie who was drafted by CCFF.....hopefully i'm wrong.

I feel like the rules are clear enough that if anyone claims one of my guys, they will know they have to drop them, requiring nothing from you. I will inform them by the end of the preseason. I honestly don't know why it's a problem to Matt or anyone else not the commish.

I have a stacked roster IMO where the roster spots are becoming more valuable than picks and players so I think this rule is quite useful to someone in my position for the reasons Conn described. People like me aren't the only one to benefit tho, as anyone that has a very large draft class (one year I had 9) can benefit from the extra roster spots during the preseason. This also gives more value to 4th round draft picks which I think is good for everyone.

Trizz pmed me and asked me to go ahead and add his. So i know he's good. Other than CCFF, i'm not sure who else didn't want their rookies added right after the draft.

I think next year, when i add our players, i need to click the "these are keeper rosters" instead of the, "these are complete rosters" or whatever it says. I think doing that is what opened up the free agency pool.

CCFF knows more about Flea Flicker than I do...so he probably knows what the cause was. Ideally, our players would still be locked now. But other than one minor snafu from Hitman, we haven't had any problems with anyone claiming players before they're eligible to do so. So it really hasn't hurt anything at all.

I think that's a good idea, drop, but I've never tried it. I'm not sure how we would open FA tho in that case as we don't use the draft function on FF so they wouldn't know when the draft was over.

So why not just pick them up and avoid the hassle of someone adding them to their team? We shouldn't have to look through stuff in here to figure out who we can bid on and who we can't.

Yeah. I mean for me, I see it this way: there's a slight advantage if your roster spots are valuable, and its totally legal by the rules. And that's that.

Oh and CCFF, i think the way we would open free agency would be to select the "these are complete rosters" option the Wednesday before July 1st. If i add rookies to people's rosters, i'll use the "these are keeper rosters" up until the afformentioned Wednsday, hoping that'll keep free agency locked until we're ready.

You can still take advantage of those extra roster spots even with your rookies. I mean how many difference makers are there out in FA right now? There's maybe a handful of guys that can help teams.

Sure its in the rules, but its just more of a hassle. I have to come back in here and look through the draft thread to make sure I don't claim someone's guy. We shouldn't have to do that.

MFL is looking better and better everyday lol. Seriously, FF is terrible.

As far as I understand, selecting "these are complete rosters" is what we do now, and that FA opens when the commish adds a player to a team. So, you may still need to do something like that before july1. Make sense? It's the FA add, not the selection, that opens FA.

thanks riggo, I got the 4 guys I was targeting... so I am pretty pleased... interesting to see who gets who etc.... i wish it would show all bids on all players just to see who else bid on guys etc...
